..or each bass stands for a happy and fullfilled year of love with her^^
-
how can you justify..or better..how can you describe the smell of the ocean, the deep blue, the sound of the waves and the taste of that salt water to a person who have never seen the ocean and the only thing this person knows is a river? how can you justify the detail in punch or lowend to one who probably does not even hear the bass in a song? it is easy..justify it with your love and passion for it. as she is loving you..she will understand.
I have to say, after I put a badass on a jazz a while ago, I didn't notice any kind of significant increased sustain compared to my standard bridged fenders.
In my eyes/ears the badass works like a smooth "compressor" in sound, some may like that, while the original bridge delivers more character and edge, which i prefer

1st of all..i am not thin! 2nd..as i always recommend to try an yamaha NE-1 with a jazzbass. 3rd.."On the other hand, maybe this is an example of why the replacement Fender parts industry got such a boost in the 70's." nonsense 4rth i will send you a pm, if you allow but..if the bass always sounds as you like it..but not in the studio..the problem is not the bass..my oppinion
Yup exactly, $2600 to me. But I keep thinking to myself, 'where else am I going to find one?'.
if this is a question between the lines..i will never sell just kidding.. everyone i know is regretting if he sold those and the other ones will never sell as well

great descriptioon on bass direct "This was a very limited run with around 200 made in this colour." so far so good.. but i like this part: This solid ash-body instrument comes with a rosewood fingerboard with white binding, pearloid block inlays and a three-ply white pickguard... and Model Name: American Vintage '75 Jazz Bass® Series: American Special Edition - 2002 Body: Alder soundwise and from weight mine is without question an ash body. i have an original 73 alder jazz also for comparison
but the cost and exchange rate puts it $1k dollars over what the other colors typically sell for used here!
but still great price..they last i have seen were from 1800-2100 euro, which are, 1585 gbp to 1850 gbp or in your case 2560 USD to 2995 USD
My LPB was great, the alder and rosewood giving it a darker deeper tone than the current '75ri. It now lives in barcelona
Maybe because of the alder being ash @BB3000s thank you

honestly..because of knowing another guy, who owns a sonic blue one(that one in talkbass), and another one who has owned, but sold a CAR..i first considered being a japanese..i still wait for a call back from my mom.
-
but yesterday you also linked that one What you have is a 75RI MIA jazz bass, It is a FSR (factory special run). 200 units were made all destined for europe (bass made solely to be sold overseas)! 60 basses went overseas and 140 stayed in the USA. The bass is made of ash and spec's out to 1975 specs. The bass in 2002 sold for $1500 new. This is the only other "true" 75RI MIA bass made by Fender outside the regular production MIA 75RI jazz. What makes it special is CAR w/matching headstock was not offered in 1975, it was only offered (CAR) from 63-73. Btw my serial # is on the back of the neck plate and is VERY CLOSE to you serial#! so confusion is done
What makes you say that dude..im interested..
- Cause if only 45 delivered to that shop in Japan it would be rather impossible to see one over here..but i have seen 3 times an OLY FSR in Europe. Now we can discuss about probability - My FSR definitely has ash as bodywood. I do not think that they swap body woods by color. but maybe i am wrong;) Maybe the point under comments means that from the whole amount 45 pieces are specially delivered to Yamano, but this doesn´t automatically lead to that only 45 pieces in OLY have been produced. @BB3000S Do you remember the body wood of your FSR basses?
-
i do not think so, i also question body wood alder
-
beautiful..those really dark boards are amazing on the FSR.

did a little reading about this now, so this is what i read on wikipedia Fender took over SUNN in the 80s and continued producing SUNN Amps. 2002 they discontinued producing SUNN equipment. Interesting thing about this amp, those people who developed the SVT later developed the SUNN 300T here is a page of a music magazine..but unfortunately , i cannot remember which year it was. Just scanned the page^^ I think it was 98
I thought these were just re-badged Fender Pro series.
No the Fender Pro Series are just re-bagded Sunn Sunn products are discontinued after Fender took them over, as far as i know;)

This bass was a Factory Special Run by USA Fender 2002. They were made in OLY, CAR, LPB and in sonic blue. I own one in sonic blue. Information about those basses are really rare. What i found out so far is 250 made in CAR and LPB, 200 made each in OLY and Sonic blue worldwide. They are Ash Body, Maple Neck/Rosewood Board, Block inlays, three bolt Neck, matching headstock and 70´s PU stringspacing. These basses are absolutely fantastic and sound awesome. A rare collectors one as well(remember the small number they are made). This is one of the most beautiful basses ever produced by Fender. this is my sonic blue one Serial 0003X and this the only sound impression i found on youtube. If you need any further help, please contact me also via PM. Maybe i am able to help you

When i started using flatwounds it was kind of love/hate thing and i changed a lot from flats to rounds and back again. i have the great present for owning more than one bass (thanks for that) and so everyday changing was not necessary. Now i have rounds on my jb`s and on my p basses rounds and flats. But..as time goes i definitely prefer flatwounds strings. as i am a band player there is nothing in a mix than a p with flats. I started with chromes but shortly changed to labella 760fl. The Labella Jamersons are to percussive for me due to their strong gauges. Also the Ernie Ball flats are really good as well. I noticed a change in the Labella 760Fl production, the old ones are some kind of matt and sound amazingly good and "woody", the new ones are shiny and i do not like them very much. So i tried D`angelico smooth rounds, which are now my favourite flats, flats because they are called rounds but are more flats with a great tone. on my 68 P i only use the old Labella 760Fl and on my 64 P i have the D´angelicos on it. In near future i will restring all other basses with that D`angelicos, they are cheap and amazing..not an easy to find combination.
