Fender Precision style Pickguard SOLD

Thenk's for all your help guys, I'll mull over it for a bit, it's got no routing so I might make up a small pick guard for the controls, it'll kinda match my 62RI Japan fretless jazz!
It's basswood. Basswood doesn't have much in the way of a grain, so don't go too nuts with the sanding.
Hey thanks, that's kinda what I thought, I'm undecided at the mo as its in really good condition, just thought I'd put the question out there, I wouldn't touch the neck just the body Dodge

Arghhhh why did i forget to say: "please don't say gig it for 20yrs"etc etc
-
I've just purchased a nice silver series sunburst p bass and I wanted to give it a light relic look, does anyone know what the body wood is? I'm guessing the answer is 'basswood' but it feels so light! I just wondered if anyone would have an insight as to how it would relic? I would just like to dull the gloss finish with some minor sanding like a road worn, any help would be greatly appreciated. Dodge

Sorry fella but you've obviously never played one.The construction on every one I've ever owned has been totally faultless, the "plastic neck" is a joy to play,is even with no dead spots, and will stay rock-solidly in tune in the most demanding of gig temperatures.Undeniably superbly made instruments, whether you like their "styling" or not Yeh I've owned one and I loved it, I'm not saying it's not well made and I loved the styling I just think they're a bit overpriced as the thread was asking, sold it bought a stingray which was amazing (which has now since gone too!!!) mid life crisis maybe!

Can't get my head round status, seems a lot of money for a plastic neck! Ok I'm sure there's more to it but when I read from various posts that the neck heel is hollow!

Hello all, this is a feeler to see how much interest is out there (new job means I need to fund a new car) Musciman Stingray, natural/maple, 2eq, transition/flea bridge with new mutes, black & white genuine scratch plates, original receipt/paperwork, strap locks (original buttons & Allen keys) you would be hard pushed to tell this bass from brand new, I can't see a single mark on it! Lovely grain Sorry no trades unless you have a CIJ fretless jazz, sunburst £850 firm (purely because in don't really want to sell it but needs must:)))

I've recently acquired a maple/natural stingray with a lovely grain to the neck, after picking up the bass again after 20+ years it's just something I had to have, ( kind of a mid-life crisis I guess), but wow what a stunning work of art this bass is, i dont even need to play it, i can just look at it!! now don't get me wrong I've owned a status but why would anyone want to mess around with an iconic bass such as a stingray? When you think of all the amazing baselines written/recorded on a stingray why would you change it? It's perfect, good enough for Bernard Edwards n'all that, I can't help thinking these status necks are more of an image thing, as said before does it really improve the bass? I can understand replacing a damaged neck but it's a lot of money for a piece of graphite, hey just my thoughts guys
