1. Hey peeps, I'm after recording a Skype video conference based lesson, to help me come to later reflection on material we talk/work on, and I've been looking for a decent software that does it (records a Skype video thing..) I know a bunch of chaps are using Skype video thing, so maybe you're recording them and can suggest decent recording software? It'd be highly appreciated, thanks Laimis
2. I've tried buying 50 of those Procell's from the link given, but we have an interesting issue with shipping.. This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order. EU Special Courier £38.94 I'd get another 50 of batteries for the price of shipping.. Now, if I buy 30 of those, I can also choose First Class Airmail, which would cost me 14.40£ to ship it to Lithuania.. I've tried looking into local internet shop prices on Duracell's, and it still quite cheaper to buy them from BuyBattery.com, than locally.. I think I'll give it a go.. Thanks chaps Laimis
3.
Do you play with the bass volume full up and the amp turned down? You might find you get longer life from your batteries if you turn your bass down low and turn the amp up.
How the hell does that work, man? Will try this trick...
4. Hey, Scott, how's MD'ing going, man? Nice to see it happening, I'm sure it's a great experience for ya... Cheers Laimis
5. I got one of these Genz Benz things, and, yes, they're quite amazing. Whatabout comparing to Markbass, it's quite obvious that latter would be louder - it's 10" speaker against 12", and, Markbass is 'filled' with mids. Maybe even too much.
6. Unfortunately, I practice an awful lot (5-6 hours a day my bass is 'on'..), and ACG 18v preamp, as amazing as it is, simply eats batteries for breakfast - you have to chance Energizer's every two months at most, and, this time I think they won't last more than 1.5 month, as I've been shedding way more in past few weeks. It's just too expensive for me to use unrechargeables, and, as far as I'm concerned, I'm totally cool to charge batteries every two weeks, as far as it helps to save me money.. Although, battery size is the biggest issue for me, and most of those rechargeable things seems slightly bigger, and won't do the trick, unfortunately.. And, I thought Sanyo don't make 9v rechargeables, do they?.. PS Don't get me wrong - battery life in ACG pre really depends on how much you play your bass - I tend to play it a lot, you can play it less and it will change things..
7. Hmmm.. Can she read?
8. Ok, so now you can find this bass in Bass Gallery for sell.. Price is reduced to 2500 pounds. If you're interested in buying this, please contact me first. easy Laimis
9. http://www.maplin.co.uk/extra-high-capacit...lue-packs-46414 I've only found these at maplin, and they're 22.99 pack.. Anyway, ar these slightly bigger than 'regular' 9v batteries, Martin? cheers Faith
10. So, I desperately need a pair of decent 9v rechargeable batteries to use in my bass, but, I've found that rechargeable ones are slightly bigger, bulkier compared to their unrechargeable sisters (Energizer, Duracell, etc..), and they don't fit in the battery compartment well enough.. I've bought rechargeable GP's, and they're simply too bulky .... I need batteries just about the size of Energizers are.. I've been looking at these at Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/pieces-250mAh-capaci...S/ref=pd_cp_e_2 While they don't seem too bulky, they seem kinda cheap for quantity - does anyone know if they're any good.. Thankfully their measurments finally appeared, so I'll check 'em out.. Does have any suggestions on these things to meet size of regular 9v batteries? I'd really appreciate it, Laimis
11. Thanks for the input, guys! I only need to use it for practice purposes, not anything serious (recording, gig..), so drum software will do - I've just came to realise it's so simple to do that using it not long ago! easy L
12. Any idea if Cubase 4 would have that feature?
13. Anyone? I've heard that Logic does that kind of stuff, but it's only for Mac unfortunately..
14. Seems like Janek did a gig with her.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA3k9NRpcuk...feature=related So, guys, is this what's called 'modern drumming'?...
15. Janek Gwizdala (who also sits in for M Stern sometimes) also plays regularly at 55 Bar, so you might check him out if you're in NYC sometime. Oh,and he's getting his new Fodera in two weeks
16.
Mark was one of the first guys to ever use a 7-string over here in the UK in the 1990s - he was in NYJO for a while as well then he kind of disappeared - he's an amazing player with a great style and wonderful phrasing and tone! Looks like he's living in Denmark now - I hope he's out there working and earning a living from music, he's a lovely player for sure.
You mean NYC?
17. TAke this exercise and do it everyday, at least 10 minutes: http://www.joehubbardbass.com/wp-content/u...er-Exercise.pdf Believe me, If you really 'sit' on this, it will help your fretboard knowledge no end - I"m doing this for quite some time now and I feel the benefits of it.
18. Nope, no iPhone here..
19. So, what I'm basically looking is a metronome or metronome software, that I could program, lets say, it clicks once on 1st bar, and then keeps silent for 3 bars, and so on... I'd appreciate recommendations on both actual metronomes and metronome software stuff.. I can't go silly with the price, but, first, let's see metronomes first.. Thanks, Laimis
20. So, I got home from London last night. I didn't really have the time/pleasure to hang a lot in town, because, as other folks mentioned it here before, Joe's lessons are way too busy to leave time to hang - so I simply spent most of my free time practising stuff. I only got to hang a bit on Friday night, went to see my fellow countryman - drummer playing in a house band at Troy Bar, which was quite hip. (Although, it wasn't too hip when going back to my cribs at late night with all those drunk kids on streets and buses..) Whatabout lessons from Joe (Joe Hubbard) - that guy is so good at what he does, it's just ridiculous.. Now, I was expecting it would be good even before our meeting, but it exceeded all my expectations.. To make it short, if you're really dedicated to practice, and if there's one man in town you want to get lessons from, it's Joe, guys.
21.
On the same vein, where can one find good jazz next friday/saturday night? [/thread hijack]
Man... You want to go to London Bass Guitar Show next weekend - lots of top cats will be there doing their thing. Just google for the event.
22. Does anyone have a single idea, if Laurence Cottle is doing a gig today or tomorrow night in London? He doesn't seem to advertise himself too much..
23. I've arrived to London earlier today, and while I didn't manage to check out Aaron Parks gig at Ronnie's I planned - a bit too tired, want to stay fresh for tomorrow's lesson - I'm really diggin' all that London vibe you were talking about.. Looking forward to gettin' more of it. easy Faith
24. Evenings for Thursday and Friday are sorted, but situation with Wednesday is not so good - can't seem to find a decent gig or a jam session that night..
25. Oh yeah, I definetly will try to check out Ronnie's, Hideway, or some other places like that..
