A girl. But not Tal. But beautiful. Her music, I mean. She's not bad too, btw Enjoy: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endid=165496304 She somehow reminded me Norah Jones. Somehow

Same thing to me happened, bro... Whole story's here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10292 I said 'em all - it really looks like the amp's broken, or dead, or sick,or ill, whatever...!!!!! It was the first time for you with that battery trick, wasn't it, bro?

For Seitan's sake, this thread is sooo funny sometimes The worst time for me was, when we got to setup in ~5 minutes, if not less, so I didn't set my amp's EQ properly and it was me, who had to play intro... Omg, I will not ever forget playing, and changing EQ settings together.

It seems, whenever my Mp3's ON/OFF - if it's plugged, then the performance is lower. There are two instrument inputs - Normal and High. When I got my active Ibazzy, I've started using High input, but today I noticed, that playing through Normal input( without any mp3's plugged, nothing) performance is higher! The hell it is? Some more about that performance problem - whichever input I use, performance becomes lower with the mp3 plugged in, but that "lowerism" isn't that harsh. Problem is, when I play through headphones, volume's lower than "normal" and when I plug mp3, it becomes even more. Tried few heaphones, situation's the same - volume's lower through both than it should be. Does it happen for guys, too? Btw, I've heard some rumour, that, time by time, when playing with headphones, they're "getting" damaged?

Going by the bass, and check it. Reviews soon.
-
Umm, I meant my guitar's volume becomes lower. And, yeah, it has two inputs, but I haven't tried on the another yet.
-
So, simply when I plug my mp3 player to Laney through CD/Aux connection, it seems, that amp's performance becomes waaaay lower. I cannot clearly remember, if started happening, so maybe it's a "root" problem?
I'm really trying to avoid playing bass with a pick - but I think I'll give in and have a go What picks, and what thickness do you picksters use? Hamster
I was trying to avoid and hate it and whatever else... but I now realised, pick'd give me some new sound, so it's the second week I'm practising a bit of it It really gives waaay different sound, but I haven't found mine yet, and, I can't get fully familiar with it. But I'll do, I think. Fingers fo' life, btw P.S. /Me's already using 1.14mm Dunlop. Yesterday I got one 0.88mm Dunlop, and one 1.14 with different form, so I'll try them out, but heavy picks are about the bass, IMHO.

Well, I do not clean them every time with string cleaner ( in my case, Dunlop Ultraglide ). But yesterday I was warned Not to clean Elixir strings with cleaner because those strings are covered with sort of plastic coating - and it is damaged if you clean 'em with cleaner.. I've already did that 2 or 3 times, sadly... But it seems, coating worn off earlier, because if there wouldn't have been any substances, I wouldn't have asked my teacher for that Dunlop cleaner..
BTW Cliff Burton was a brilliant bassist. Orion is my favourite song
Cheers, dude, +1 for the Orion epos. But I have to add he was even better composer than a bass player ( of course, for that time, he was good at bass) - just look at Master of Puppets, Call of Ktulu, and the same Orion... Brilliant

Anyone heard of a bass player called Nigel Clutterbuck?
It's a bit like Ronaldinho in a Nike advert. He stands there with the ball, does some amazing tricks and shows off just for the hell of it. Most of these tricks he would never use in a game, but it doesn't mean that as technical excercises they're not worthwhile.
+1, your point's really good, but I don't simply get it, why some people are trying to "justify" him - who cares, If he's playing there with a band or not, and has Something to show, why doesn't he make some MUSIC out of his amazing ( I dunno if it's really amazing - I annoy that kind in a musical way...whatever) Technique??? When I watched that video, I couldn't simply understand, where the phrase starts and ends... So, what's the point? I know, technique is important, very important thing, but I think, we should show Music out of it, not the technique out of music Cheers -
Hey, wait, you mean, they can "stand" without a stand? Take a look at the wall behind em, something tells me they ARE braced at it, aren't they?...
-
They do not look that ugly for me, but their weight is just about tone, I guess...
I had a serious look into an SR1005 Prestige and had it at home for a while and just couldn't slap on it. My Lakland 55-02 (19mm) is perfect for slapping, no problems and is just as fast for me as the 44-02 but the DJ is much faster to play than either (or that's the way it feels to me anyway) The 55-02 is great for long grooves in F - it's the ability to play in position more comfortably that I like about the 5 string.
Well, in fact you Can slap on it ( ok, I can, however...), but it takes/will take a lot of time to cope with spacing like SR's... But as longer I slap, more I imagine, what the... heaven would be to play on 4ver with 19mm spacing.. Damnit. But I'll cope with the Ibazzy.
It all depends on what I'm playing at the time. Fast funky stuff & slap especially is always faster and easier on a 4-stringer, but there are times when some extra range is needed. Again, really depends on the music you're playing. I've had a few 5's, but have recently moved onto my TRB-6. A six string with good wide spacing is seeming to be much more useful to me - Covers the jobs of a 5-stringer and a tenor bass all in one go! Didn't take much getting used to, either. I find it's much more efficient to work across the strings, as opposed to leaping up and down the fingerboard, as it were!
I'm also after 5-stringer, but, when I took Ibazzy, I didn't think about slap very much.. And, now, damnit, I got problems with it - 5th string is not that serious problem, but, fret spacing 16.4mm, if I'm right, and neck pickup is not that far from fretboard ( as I've noticed only Now ) - as I'm using two fingers to pop the strings, keeping thumb and two fingers right in position becomes a Thing. I like slap sound very much, but, all in all, it looks to me that my Ibazzy's for everything, but except slap I know, it's all in work, and I'm working, though, how do you guys struggle with 16.4mm spacing if you even struggle?

Huh, it's been sooome time since our last gig... So, we got drummer's birthday now, and thought of playing some funky-punky-rocky music for public. Evening's theme was "Don't worry, be hippy" Whole thing started up there: Continued up here: And ended like that : Public was pleased after all, but we weren't that happy about the things - performed Dani California, and I simply Had to mess in few places...

Victory. My Ibazzy's active, and, until my friend gave me an idea of checking the battery... I didn't check it. But I assure, low battery MAKES that feeling - your amp's dead.. Oh, holy Satan, I spent two of my "the very free" days with no playing at all, just slapping acoustically.. I'll kick my head with a leg.

Omfg... I thought I'll go mad yesterday due to my litl [L]ucking [F]aney's dead.. This morning teacher brought me another Laney - CK165, and I thought the hell's over.. We have about -4C temperature here in Lithuania, and, when I took that Laney it was COLD. I left it in my warm room for about half or full hour, then plugged my Ibazzy, and, goddamnit, he sounded practically the same like my sick RB2!!!!!!! After a few notes played ( the lower register "seemed" ok in comparison with upper - signal seemed a bit "late" and veeery weak ), amp died - you could only hear very weak signal sometimes. I left it for a while, tried again, and the story was re-told... And I got a gig on Saturday, during my drummer's birthday!!!! I think, both of amps ran out because of weather/temperature thingies - i've tried to play them in different places, with different cables, but that didn't help. Ibazzy is the last to judge here. I feel sh1tty.. At last, I could take my main, RB8 from studio, buuut, the thing is, I'll to rush it through yard, whick means Low temperature, and what if the "Laney story" repeats...?
-
When i got my Ibazzy with brand new Elixirs, after some time I've spotted some finger "meat", that got into string(especially, into thick ones - B,E, A) gaps. Tried to remove those with Dunlop string cleaner, but, as long as I tried, I couldn't remove it properly. How do you struggle with it, guys?
-
After rushing my amp through some dirty air and a little bit of rain( i don't remember clearly, actually), my little Laney RB2 got sick. It's speaker got some fuzz ( as one person, who stood in my room for a while, and didn't know, if the amp was turned on, said - it sounds like raining), that "turns on" sometimes, and whatever I'd do, it doesn't vanish. When my bass' volume is at 0, the amp still gives fuzz, so, it's speaker's problem, I think. When I turn up amp's gain, fuzz gets even harsher. The other thing - that raining/fuzz vanishes, when I start playing something, simply, when signal is sent. But the notes my bass produces are being covered with some drive - it's very deep in lower register, but it vanishes or is very soft at the upper. I know, amp's gonna need some medicine, but I dunno if maybe playing doesn't damage the speaker even more, and, umm, could it really got sick because of dirty air or somethin'?... P.S. Looks like, the amp's volume got down some, when fuzz's "on"... Uh, those "effects" sucks, really..
I guess it'd have to be my SR1000 Prestige Ibanez...
The very first I see on basschat... /Me would do the same -
For real? How's that all serious about?

I was thinking about one.. Though, I haven't seen anyone even having that thing.

Oh, you mean that one American Deluxe with passive/active circuit?

How may Basses do we own collectively on Basschat?
