1. I need stiff wire. That'll make everything I knock up much better!
 2. Talking of phase issues. Has anyone tried this:
 3.
JFET blend. Nice!
Yeah, super simple to knock up. Nice and clean sounding with no loss of the lows. I can see this being a regular add in to DIY pedals, gonna add one to my Soda Meiser.
 4. Finally got around to adding a blend control to my Zen Overdrive pedal. This is always on for a bit of low gain dirt, but it lost a fair amount of the low end. So for the last year or so I've been using a LS-2 to add a clean loop back in. Now I can just have the one pedal. One day I'll tidy up the rats nest of wires.
 5. Hearing John Entwistle, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, Moose Harris and Les Claypool as I was growing up. Then my mate got a guitar and it was obvious what I was going to buy. For my 16th birthday, much to my mum's disapproval; "more money wasted on a fad", I got a bass. 26 years later the fad is still going as strong as it was the day it started.
 6.
Hi if you can PM me the settings I'd appreciate it. Cheers Paul. 7. Just in case people are still interested, there's a large collection here: http://www.xguitar.com/tabs/stranglers/
 8. He currently uses an Ashdown JJ-500 and an ABM 500 into some 4x10s and 1x15s His bass is a Shuker.
 9. I really really want a British built all valve amp.
 10. Hurrah! I'm always telling my wife that I can't throw something out as it may be useful in the future.
 11. Ah, fixed my problem. swapping the in and out of the pot sorted it. and there was an ground wire missing from the diagrams. The 'instructions' that were supplied are terrible.
 12. There's new prices on the website, a WGPS Corvette 4 string is around €1100 - €1400
 13.
That would be lovely, Bartelby, but only if you don't need it!
I have a knackered old bridge. I'll pm you tomorrow.
 14. Bluejay, do you want a grub screw from a Warwick bridge. I may have one somewhere?
 15. I like soldering up circuit boards, but I hate the wiring side of things!! Knocking up my Devi Ever Soda Meiser. Signal goes all the way through the circuit, into the volume pot but nothing comes out. Checked the pot and it's fine. Viewed from the underside: signal goes in to the left leg, out is the middle and ground is the right. anyone have any ideas?
 16.
Hmmmm ... a lot of these are more-or-less straight covers. Even they went uncredited on the original albums (I haven't checked whether that was the case) I'm not sure that counts as "Songs that sound like other songs". They are, after all, the same song. In fact, one could almost argue that The Song Remains The Same.
Fair point.
 17. Can I say lots of Led Zeppelin: The best plagiarism videos on youtube have had all the audio removed for copyright infringements... kinda ironic really...
 18.
Then I recently discovered there was a Peavey 3620 - two 18" and two 10" speakers in a single enormous cabinet! One failed to sell on eBay a month or so ago - not unsurprisingly as it was collection only from someone quite remote.
Just found a photo of Adam Yauch's custom 3620 type cab:
 19.
Is that a fart?
cone testicles
 20.
Never mind that. I want to know how they got an old Ampeg 1x18 on top of a 2x15!
2x15" was horizontal. Yes, I know...
 21.
Fewer lows. Maybe they were so low you couldn't hear 'em?
I couldn't feel them either.
Looking at the cabs you own it's no surprise that you didn't like the 18's and 15's. I know people who get a great sound out of Ampeg 15's, but I prefer tight, warm and punchy for my sound.
Now I didn't say I didn't like them. Just pointing out that the theory of old big speakers may not produce as much low end as smaller modern speakers is perfectly valid.
 22.
What were you expecting....? I'd be thinking low mush and a generally unusable sound
It was actually quite pronounced in the mids, not a low mush. But your 'low mush', might be my 'lovely lows'... It was a far from unusable sound, but just had less lows than a much smaller set up.
 23.
A 4x8 and 1x15 together - the don`t mix cabs police will soon be at your door...............
I know! That was actually going through my mind as I was typing... I'd prefer to have 2 4x8"s but I'm skint.
