Ampeg SCR-DI

This looks like it could be quite interesting: "The Ampeg SCR-DI Bass DI with Scrambler™ Overdrive is a true Ampeg preamp, delivering a wide range of Ampeg tone perfect for the stage. The classic Ampeg EQ offers additional tonal control including Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo tone shaping. Plus, you can dial in tube-like grind with the all-new Bass Scrambler overdrive. The SCR-DI has all the connections to get Ampeg tone out of any rig and send it all to front-of-house to ensure the audience hears your tone. With a built-in headphone out and aux in for practicing along with backing tracks, the SCR-DI is also a fantastic practice tool that can fit right into your gig bag. 4. I hope that's not an official demo...
5. Goblin's soundtracks to italian horror films Lots of Clint Mansell's film scores
6.
Lars from Rancid and The Bastards dons his Oi! cap with The Old Firm Casuals and comes up with this haunting anthem.. Check out the full album 'This Means War', it's a cracker
That's the best sounding stuff he's done since Rancid. My old band supported LF & the Bastards once. He was a jerk.
7. After spending nearly a year swapping between my Warwick Corvette, Aria SB Elite, EBMM Stingray trying to find the right sound, I've gone back to my Fender P. I love playing all of them, and the Warwick and Stingray are more comfortable than the Fender. But the Fender just sounds so much nicer. Of course, I want other basses by other manufacturers. But I guess I'll keep going back to the P.
8.
I think the Thunderbird 2015 bass has the same bridge. Not too clear as the Thunderbird bass bridge is black and harder to make out.
The description says it has a Babicz bridge too...
9. I'm finding the D'Addario balanced Tension set is quite nice to play. But it's quite a heavy gauge set. 50 67 90 120.
10.
or alternatively a wearable rig you can strap on whilst jumping around....
Like this guy from Itchy-O Maching Band:
11.
Spear guitars flextool.
Looks ok, but it's missing a neck mudbucker
12. I saw them supporting Anthrax, on the State of Euphoria tour (1988/89). Totally blown away by them, they were just awesome. Then saw them a few years later, with Stereo MCs (as a 3 piece, before they hit the charts) as support. One of the most boring gigs I've ever been too. Over the years I've gone off that kind of music a bit. But every now and then I give Vivid a spin.
13. First bass was for my 16th birthday. A used black Aria Pro II cardinal series CSB Deluxe and a 30w Laney Linebacker to go with it. I part-ex'd the bass for, what is technically , a new bass. A pearl white Aria Pro II SB Elite. It was a few years old when I got it but it still had plastic over the pickup and control cover plate. The guy in the shop said it had been a demo model. I kept it in mint condition for a year or so, until one day I decided to install a Dimarzio Model One as a neck pickup. I still have the bass and use it quite regularly.
14.
I was told 'officially' that returns were much lower now
Doesn't really say much. They could have had a 60% failure rate and now it's only 40%... I had 2 die. Wouldn't trust them again.
15.
Yup - the big sheds are the worst for this. Loads of kick drum and zero bass guitar definition.
The first Einsturzende Neubauten gig I saw this month was, pretty much literally, in a big shed. It was in an old bus depot in a small Belgian town. Given the complexity of their set up the sound was amazing, just as good as when they played at Koko last week,
16. The last bunch of gigs I've been to (Loop, Godflesh, Goat and 2 Einstürzende Neubauten) the mix has been spot on.
17. I'll always try and find a UK based place that will price match. If I can't, then I use Thomann.
18. Just sorting out music for my road trip from south Wales to Belgium next week to see Einstürzende Neubauten
19. Just picked up tickets to see Dub War in December!
20. Bit expensive for a skull... I saw them on that tour and I'm wearing my glow in the dark skeleton long sleeve shirt at the moment...
21.
You should hear what he says about you ...
Sorry, I wasn't aware I wasn't allowed to have a differing opinion. I'll edit my post for you shall I?
22. so it's just me and Courtney who don't like Dave Grohl then... He just irritates me for some reason.
23. cheers for the recommendations. I shall download some stuff and see what I get on with...
24. Scott Walker + SunnO))) - Soused. not exactly the easiest of listening...
