odb3 mod

The 1n4148s do let some clean signal through. I can't say I've noticed any muddiness and the gain range seems fine. I'm not sure I changed the capacitors in mine. Only having 2 switches suggests I didn't.
2. The RB950, just gorgeous! I've always wanted one just like that!
3. This is my evening sorted. A whole NoMeansNo gig!
4. Has anyone tried a "passive pickup emulator" style box between an active bass and a fuzz?

From the book:
Location Stock value Mod value C10 .33uf 2.2uf R31 3.3k 1k C8 300pf .001uf change diodes to 1n4148
There's some great mods in this book. I tried a few that sounded awesome. The Boss Tremolo and DOD FX60 chorus mods in particular. But I cocked up changing the foot switches when moving them to better enclosures about 7 years ago and have not got around to sorting them out.
Brian posted the mods himself over here and no longer sells the ebook anyway:
I managed to get this little beauty years back:

I made a similar mod a while back, but added switches so you could get back to the original sounds:
9. Anyone used DPD for sending stuff? Having stuff delivered by them is marvelous. Best tracking system out of any courier by far. As far a restricted items, musical instruments aren't on their list.
10.
Not convinced the 12-ohm 2x10 is a good idea though. So running one of these with a valve amp you could choose either the 8 or 16 ohm output as they are close enough. Or with two cabs giving a 6 ohm load, you can use the 4 or 8 ohm outputs. Are all valve amps going to be happy running at a mismatched impedance like this? Not a problem for solid state amps of course,
I wouldn't trust an Ampeg PF-500 with these cabs...
11. Whenever those "favourite bassist/ your bass influence" threads pop up I always forget to say Paul Gray. But having spent most of the day listening to The Damned he's definitely one of my favourites! The Black Album isn't just my favourite Damned album, but it's one of my favourite albums ever.
12.
I'd probably still say my favourite was Machine Gun Etiquette, but Curtain Call from the Black Album is absolutely stunning - a 17 minute proto-goth/punk/prog epic! Fantastic stuff! Jon.

I was trying to think of a way to describe "Curtain Call" & I suppose that's as good as any.
Yep, I'd go with that too.
13. The Black Album is my favourite Damned album! I love all the albums, even Anything. 'Happy Talk' was just the Captain on his own, after he left The Damned.
14. Mike Watt Billy Gould Jason Newstead Cliff Burton John Entwistle Steve Harris Martyn P Casey Tracy Pew Lou Barlow Karl Alvarez bonus bassist: Joe Garcia!
15. Stephen O'Malley's set up is pretty cool. This shot is for Sunn O))). But I saw him perform recently and it was just him, guitar, FX board. and most of this. (3 Sunn 300T, a Colosseum, 8 4x12", a big old Ampeg and 2 8x10s)

New Zoom B3

1) yes, there's a patch change mode. Holding down one of the foot switches puts it in that mode. 2) you can select from several different cab models. 8x10, 1x15 a couple of different 4x10...
17. I really wanted to go but there were too many gigs that week. I saw them a few years back at the Supersonic Fest. I love Mike's playing.
18. I saw Soundgarden last year and they were as good as they were in the 90s. I'd love to see FNM again as I can't see them being anything other than awesome. I'd leave before Black Sabbath though.
19.
It's also given me a new sense of purpose: I do want a decent P now. It means maple fingerboard (of course), with a very nice neck (wide and chunky, but "just so"), and that has that "thump" in it (which means trying a bunch...)
Sounds just like a Steve Harris sig. Fender.
20.
Have I posted this Fernandes here before? Whatever, it's still GORGE! 21. Have you tried Banzai Music? http://www.banzaimusic.com/MEC-c-176/
22. Anything with Bob Weston III on, but specifically Shellac stuff.
