1.
Mike Watt's bass. Although I can't see gibson ever doing one!
HELL YES!!!! I keep thinking about getting an EB-3 and modding it EDIT: of course that actual bass is still missing... keep yer eye's peeled!
Was that actually a Ric? I think I'd picked up the suggestion from somewhere that it was a copy - but that would be quite a unique signature for a Rickenbacker!
It was a real Burgundy Ric. But with an EB pickup in the neck position and a jazz pickup in the bridge position
2. Played in Brum on Monday night. 2nd on out of 5 bands. Pretty quiet, being between Christmas and New Years, but ok. 3rd band didn't show up at all. But we've been asked to do some more support slots later in the year.
3. I'd forgotten how good they looked unmessed about with. But not £1500 good...
4. I've actually lengthened my strap over the last few years
5.
Went into a music shop in Cov years ago for a set of strings and walked out with a six string bass. I don't actualy remember if I got the strings I needed
a music shop in Cov with a 6 string bass??? Which one was that?
6. I always thought it was a bit twee and clique-y myself.
7. As I use my Zoom B3 these days I no longer need a dedicated tuner pedal. It's in full working condition, it had the firmware update done a while back. It comes boxed, with manual and sticker. The rubber feet fell off soon after I got it and there's some adhesive left from velcro on the back. If I can find my white spirit I'll clean it off. Thanks
8. I always use AbeBooks for second hand books. http://www.abebooks....nging+technique A lot of the shops are US based but you usually get a decent price.
9. Hmmmm, my Steve Harris P weighs in at a lovely 13lbs and that's with an aluminium scratchplate, not the heavier chromed one...
10. I had 2 PF-500s that failed within 6 months. One would just cut out at random intervals and take a few minutes to come back on. The other just tripped out and never came back. Got a full refund and bought a second hand Ashdown JJ500. I wouldn't trust another Ampeg PF range amp ever again...
11.
And no thread about PJ is complete without mentioning the Temple of the Dog album. Arguably one of the greatest rock albums ever. Who argues that? Me and my mate Rich. FACT.
I won't disagree, but that would lead you to Soundgarden and BadMotorFinger which is better.
12. I hope the OP isn't a Muse fan then: Matthew Bellamy of Muse has the world record at breaking guitars, destroying 140 during the Absolution Tour.
13.
Goes to show how much experiences vary. I LOVE Vitalogy, many of the best lyrics they've written - I know it's not stadium rock but there's more to this band than singalong anthems surely...
I totally agree. I know several people who think Vitology is the best album, but I listened to Vitology recently and not a single song grabbed my attention...
14. I saw Pearl Jam live around the time Ten was released. It was a proper energy filled gig, one of the best gigs I've been to. Chatted to most of the band before and after, they came across as very nice guys. The first 2 albums were great, then Vitology was a bit of a let down. The following albums seem to just plod along until Riot Act came out. That is one of my favourite albums. Then Pearl Jam and Backspacer didn't seem to do much for me, but I'm really liking Thunder Bolt.
15.
Rubbish quality picture but I finally found an excuse to use the full rig. It sounded utterly awesome I have to say.
Dear lord!! You run all the amps at the same time, it's not 2 seperate set ups?
16. Nothing to add, but nice Hitch Hikers reference!
There will always be a minority of moaners for whom the sky isn't quite the right shade of pink
17. The black neck and pickup suggest some kind of Westone to me.
18. Anyone seen this yet? Circuit Scribe lets you draw circuits instantly! This is a rollerball pen filled with specially formulated conductive ink that dries instantly. We also have numerous circuitry components available that make this a great prototyping and STEM education tool. We currently have a kickstarter campaign for this product! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/electroninks/circuit-scribe-draw-circuits-instantly
19. If you're playing to a click track can't you just sequence the keys part on a laptop?
