1.
"The band before/after you haven't been able to bring their instruments. You don't mind if they use yours do you?"
Or what I've had: Soundguy: your drummer emailed me yesterday and agreed it was ok if all the bands use you rig. Cheers.
2.
No controversy - just there's only one bloke, Chris Squier, who ever got a decent sound out of one
2. Cliff Burton (I know his was some what modified though)
3.
Grant Hart - Intolerance.
Bloody fantastic album!!
4. Listening to a lot of Faith No More. Currently Angel Dust. Billy Gould is such a great bassist!
5. That's taking relic'ing too far!
6. Blimey!! The Meteors! Not seen them for a long time! Shame the gig is so far away...
7.
On my ipad your link opens a page full of warning messages
and on IE 8 (granted IE 8 hates just about everything on th internet)
8.
I guess these are useful if you are running two rigs, or send a completely dry feed to the PA. I've personally used a blender pedal to get clean and distorted sounds for many years, but have recently discovered that I prefer the whole signal distorted! So no, I don't use them... But some do use them quite creatively, even on cheaper pedals - do a search for 'Uniboss'...
interesting... use my B3 to high pass the signal before going into the overdriven rig. Might try it out with a chorus running too...
9. Live I use the dry out on my Bass Big Muff to feed to a rig that's always overdriven. The effect out goes to a separate rig that's mainly clean, apart from when the BBM is on of course.
10. Now some Norwegian folk music: Pekko Kappi - Jos Ken Pahoin Uneksii
11. Currently rough mixes of an ep my band is putting together...
12. My dad bought a brand new, Fiesta Red (we think), Precision in 1962 and it cost him £150, from George Clay's (I think)in Brum. An infaltion calculator says that's equivilent to £2,715.02 today. If my dad had kept it, it would have been in mint condition and had all the case gubbins and recipt.* So that would have been worth a nice amount now. *as long as I hadn't borrowed it of course!
13. My school had a full size (4/4) double bass, with 2 strings, kept in a cupboard that had about 30, stackable, chairs stacked infront of it. You could open the door just enough to see the DB. Whenever the music teacher was asked about it he basically said there was no sodding way he was dragging the thing out. He was only 4' 10" mind...
14. I recently used that seller. The delivery took 3 days, not one, but it was free delivery so you can't complain really. They do copper tape with conductive adhesive for £4 for 4 metres.
15. I was noodling about the other evening and my B3 was barely useable due to buzzes and hums. I then noticed the lamp, next to me, was still plugged into a timer switch. I unplugged the timer switch and the B3 was noiseless once again.
16.
Our very own Bass Doc would be able to make pretty much whatever you want.
Yep, very competatively priced too. He'll need the original pickguard as a template though
17. You need to find one with 10 screw holes for a direct replacement. I've just swapped mine for an anodised plate:
18. Bought a gold anodised pickguard from Steve. It was in perfect condition and a great price. Super quick postage and great communication. Cheers Steve!
19.
Keep the mint guard and refin the body lake placid blue.
Gold guard, refin in black and swap the neck for a maple board one! Job done!
20. Quick shot of my Steve Harris P with the gold pickguard I received today. Cheers Shonks!
21. The Overdrive is modelled on the ODB-3. They don't really sound a like. The ODB-3 has a better EQ but the Overdrive has less gain, but it's still loads.
