1. Ampeg is his "dirty" rig and the Mesa is clean. But they only mic the ampegs... Or that's what I got from the video... o_O
2. This gives a detailed breakdown if their set ups. Ben's is about 1/2- 2/3 the way through: http://youtu.be/uEl7u9Z3lK0
3. The unreleased album, by Pop Will Eat Itself, from 1996...
4.
Sorry dude, was paraphrasing - that said, "boring" would definitely have described Soundgarden's showing at Download; does show that opinions can vary! http://youtu.be/jeXChfKnh3I
We can't all like the same stuff or things would be boring. That Graveyards song is about 3 times faster than anything they played.
5.
Wow, surprising to hear they were "boring" then! They've put out some very good stuff.
"A bit dull" is what I said. They mainly played slower blues songs that had some good bits in.
6.
I must admit it was my first time so I was quite happy and was pleased his voice was still good, bit of bass drama just added to the fun! I don't even know who the support where but yes, bit dull but sort of filled the background while we all got a pint and a tiny gap to stand in
Support were Graveyard, from Sweden, I think. It took the sound guys a couple of songs to get the vocals sounding good. I was disappointed to see that Ben has mellowed out since the last time is saw them, but then that was 19 years ago. It's also a shame that the Brum O2 seems to suck bass frequencies away.
7.
Did you enjoy the gig?
It's the 3rd or 4th time I've seen them and it wasn't one of the best times. But still enjoyable. The support band were a bit dull though.
8. I was there! Right at the back... As the amp lunched itself I thought it was the best tone if the night! The bass tech got the bass back after a few mins. It was Ben's main bass, called Baron apparently.

10. I love playing my Stingray, and it sounds great, but a Precision sits better in the mix, in my band.
11.
I think it is something to do with whether you are a 'taking' or a 'giving' performer. The 'taking' perfomer is saying 'look at what I'm doing. Isn't it clever? Doesn't this make me look cool?' S/he is the one that inevitably ends up looking naff. The 'giving' performer is saying 'Look at what I am doing to give you a good time and make you happy/excited/thrilled/scared. Hope you are enjoying it as much as me'. S/he is the one that gets the crowd on his/her side.
I went to see Dinosaur Jr last week and a band called The Computers were the support. Their vocalist fitted into the 'taking' category quite well. Jumping about, climbing on the keyboard and crowd railing, and doing that annoying 'preaching to the audience' nonesense. He did loads of crowd interaction but it all seemed to be more to do with how cool he was than anything else. It was just irritating after 2 songs
12. New, heavy flat wounds every gig and strong fingers... and a P bass, of course. StevieD_FenderP2009 is the man you need to ask...
13. I can't see the issue. They sent you an item you didn't pay for, and you're exchanging it for the item you did pay for. It's not costing you anything to return either.
14. Getting myself ready to see them on Saturday. Soundgarden, and lots of them!!!
15. My current gas list is: Matamp rig x2 (one run clean, other FX) Burgundy or Shadow Ric 4003 (or both) White/Maple Mike Dirnt roadworn too many pedals to mention
16.
I've opted for the refund. I wouldn't be comfortable with Hartke kit now and it would always be on my mind that it is unreliable.
I totally understand that. When my second Ampeg PF-500 failed I got a refund. Not only has it put me off the Portaflex range it's made me wary of Class D amps in general...
17.
I`d hope they`ll have the sense to put this along the lines of the Nate Mendel Sig, which is also part of the Road Worn family, but which also doesn`t show much fake wear. They`re about £700. I think the majority of the "wear" will be on the neck making it nice and comfortable to play. That for me is the star point of the Road Worns, the necks.
I've seen them advertised for £1067... 18. Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls was the first song, I worked out and, played.
19. Nine Inch Nails - Hesitation Marks (Audiophile master) Will have to download and listen to the general release master version later...
20. I refretted the neck on my Warwick (it was very very cheap and already a bit battered) that I defretted a couple of years ago. The hardest bit is profiling the ends of the frets and not lacerating your fingers becuse you've done a bodged job I got proper Warwick fret wire from Banzai music.
21. Now I've seen the photos. It looks awesome!!
22.
a 700v plate voltage, 240v current and the fact all the wires are the same colour coming in and out of it. I'm not saying its impossible to get round, but it's one more obstacle and the average thief shouldn't have a clue about it.
Ah, so they'd pinch it, realise there's an issue and dump it somewhere... (like I said, I'm a miserable sod. I can't even see the pictures as they're blocked in work.)
23.
Yeah they kept the factory open so I could get there at 7.30 and was done like 8.30-9ish One could argue if they'd got it finished on time they wouldn't of had to, another is don't ask for a stupid key on/off switch and we'll get your amp turned around in half the time and not have to stay 4 hours after for you but its very very cool the whole on/off thing
Just to be the miserable sod that I am. What's to stop someone pinching the amp and replacing the key switch with a normal on/off switch?
