1.
Does anybody else have this kind of dilemma?
Yes. I've got 100s of LPs, 12"s and 7"s that have never had a digital release. Last year, as I was packing up to move house, I took the opportunity to digitise lots of them. Turntable ---> phono stage ---> USB audio box ---> iMac (running Audacity) When I start doing this again I shall invest in a Pro-Ject Phono Stage with a built in USB port.
2. My SH has D'Addario Prosteels on. The SH strings were on it for a year but are now on my JV P.

11.
I'd probs buy one again if I could get it for the price I paid.
So would I, but then I only paid £70 new...
12.
I saw a Steve Harris Fender it pretty much seemed the same as most other Fenders in that category except it was about 500 quid dearer so in a nutshell are star endorsed basses a rip off or are they really the same basses the artists use?
When I got my Steve Harris sig bass in 2010 it cost me £800 new, With a RRP of about £950. Then Fender whacked their prices up... Fender have been doing SH sig basses for a few years now: the West Ham coloured one, the white one with the West Ham badge and then the Royal Blue one. Steve used each of these basses live during the years they were in production. Whether he used them to record with is a different matter... The Flea bass was Flea's attempt to get kids interested in music and playing music. So produced a budget bass that kids could afford.
13. Get in touch with Hipshot. I contacted them about getting a new lever as mine had worn down (after 20 years). The shipped me a new one free.
14. I'd love a Vampyre LTD and a Dark Lord...
15. My main bass is my very battered 1995 Corvette Proline.
16.
But if it's a nitro finish, you could ruin it and wipe pennies off the value ...
Surely that would then be a relic'd guitar and be worth more. Especially if you let small bits of the scribble showwing...

New Zoom B3

Used mine live quite a lot, but recently gone right back to basics. from a 2 loop set up with the B3 in one loop and a Bass Big Muff, Small Stone and Vesta Fire Distortion in the other loop to a modded ODB-3.
18. Had some fun deliveries today. New soldering iron, new "helping hands", some perfboards and some Mullard OA91 Germanium diodes from the late 60s... now I just need a few kids free hours... shame you can't buy that on ebay...
19.
Pop onto you tube and give Orion by Metallica a listen
But avoid any Metallica with Rob Trujillo in...
20. The Zoom B3 is pretty popular at the moment. Wide variety of effects and pretty cheap.
21. The bottom ones are 1n914. I've received a bunch 3 days ago. Top ones look like 1N34 Germanium diodes
22. My Model One has a black plastic layer over the pickup wires, but it is 20 odd years old, that one looks like braided metal. So they may have changed that by now.
23. ARGH!!!!! my soldering iron has died!!!
24. for small lengths I just use the side of a hot soldering iron, as it's usually on when I need heat shrink
