1. Had a David Lee Roth (early Van Halen and DLR albums) morning... Now on to JK Flesh
2.
Truly flattered. Thank you! There's a new Alpha Male Tea Party EP about to drop so keep your eyes peeled and your ears... something else that rhymes with peeled. Sadly the EP is my last effort with AMTP. I've had to bow out after three years of travelling between London and Liverpool as it's becoming a bit too much to keep up. I still love the band and wish I could carry on but the commitment to it meant I was missing out on too much other stuff. If I was in the same city I'd still be doing it. They have found a replacement super quick though and will be smashing on so all is not lost.
Has said replacement also got an awesome bass tone?
3. Not a totally DIY pedal, but the mods I made to my ODB-3 worked out well. Low-mid boost on the left and LED or 1N4148 clipping on the right.
4. There were a few roads in the US they did this to.
5. You've forgotten ANTA (joegarcia) and Alpha Male Tea Party (D-L-B) who are 2 of my favourite bands in the last couple of years. There's also Caricatures (Mr Foxen) and Rattlin' Bones (Clarky's old band),
6. I really do like the Vampyre basses... And that one is stunning!
7.
Maple/Maple (Birdseye preferably) and 22 Frets with a Zero fret too.
yep, that'll do.
8.
VST audio instruments and effects can't run independently on a computer - they must be used from within a VST host application - like your Logic Pro 9 (which will have lots of VSTs in it already), or Cubase, Reason, Reaper or any other DAW.
Pretty sure VST can't run in Reason. Unless someone has developed a rack extension to allow it...
9.
Fair enough mate, I've just always felt that thrash metal isn't supposed to be comedic, well not the music at least. What bugs me about them more is that they aren't from the Bay Area. That fourth place should've gone to either Testament or Exodus.
I never thought Thrash Metal was meant to be serious... Testament, I prefer them to Slayer and Megadeth. So my Big 4 would be Anthrax ST Metallica (I can't believe Trujillo has been with them for 10 years already) Testament It's a good job we don't all like the same stuff, the same way, or music (and life) would be dull...
10.
Anthrax have always been too comedic to ever be taken seriously IMHO.
They never took themselves too seriously either... Which is why I liked them more than the other 3... How Suicidal Tendencies didn't make it as big as the big 4 I'll never know.
11.
The Turquoise one
Quite!
12. There was the Boss Slow Gear...
13. D'Addario Pro Steels (not noticing much difference between these and the Nickel ones to be honest) and finally got around to putting on that set of Rotosounds that were generously given away last year...
14. now listening to this:
I'm listening to BC member GarethFlatlands band's album. It's f***ing brilliant! http://infictions.ba...and-forgiveness
15.
Is there something wrong with Lombardo that has caused him to be replaced? He is a monster of a drummer.
http://www.nme.com/news/slayer/68856
16.
Anthrax still do good albums , but they have minimal original or near original members.
bit unfair, Anthrax have had about 28 different members (I think Scott Ian is the only truly original member) The current line up has 4 that have pretty much been together since 1984 (Bello had 1 year out and Belladonna has been there for 1/2 that time, on and off) But back to the subject of Slayer Hanneman's arm is pretty impressive!
17. Look in the Audio/Midi settings (should be in the Utilities folder) I used to use the NI - B4II with a keyboard as a stand alone application. Worked fine, You might need the keyboard's driver from here: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driver
18. Currently playing: *shels - Plains of the Purple Buffalo
19. As long as the bills are paid and we have food and a roof over our heads my wife doesn't really care.
20. Played our first away gig, up in Brum on Thursday night in a tiny pub in Digbeth. We were the 2nd of 3 support bands for Peter & the Test Tube Babies. It was all very laid back and relaxed. Played to a decent crowd and we went down well. The promoter has offered us a few other support slots. All in all a pretty good night.
21. one of my first pedals, back in the mid 80s, was a Rocktek Flanger. Sounded great with my Vesta Fire distortion...
22. Hello from just south of Abergavenny.
