1. Another Billy Fan here. Saw them twice on the Real Thing and Angel Dust tours*. I love his playing. Here he is dressed as bee As an aside, if I could sing like anyone it'd be Mike Patton (not that this clip is a good example to use of him). *when tours were actual tours and not just 2 massive gigs in London and Manchester
2. On my current playlist are: Goat Gnod Grey Daturas Oneida Oren Ambarchi & Serpentina Satelite
3. That bridge looks just like the one I took a dremel to.
4.
I like it too. Would be even better corvette shaped and with two P pickups (preferably Di Marzio) though.
I'm sure, for a medium sized fortune, Warwick can knock you up a custom bass...
5.
That's good man! I do too, and I've had a fabulous response to Kit's ep. But I think these are the exceptions, the Recording section, and the Show us Your Vids thread get few responses to postings, unless it's some sort of technical fireworks or a Jaco cover
I guess I'm a bit guilty of not leaving replies. I'm just listening to Kit's ep. I really like it. Always on the look out for something with a melody and tune to offset all the DOOM/Drone I listen too!
6.
but will we head over to the BC Recording section and listen to BCers' bands?
Yes. And go and see them if I can. There are 4 BCers' bands that I listen to pretty much every week. And I've seen ANTA 4 or 5 times now. It's one of the things that keeps me coming to BC, discovering new bands to listen to.
7.
Interview with Juan is the best one yet. Great work as always.
Just saw the retweet by Juan about it..
8. Cult of Luna: and some God Is An Astronaut:
9. First gig was Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Brum Odeon 1984? I was 11.
10. So Rotosound are reissuing the fuzz pedal. Does anyone have any experience of the original one? http://www.rotosoundonline.com/general-news/the-rotosound-fuzz-pedal-its-back/
11.
Wow, live and learn, never seen/heard anything like this before for over an hour. Drop 'B'?
If you ever get chance to see SunnO))) live then do it. If they have Thomas Nieuwenhuizen with them playing his Moogs and BIll Herzog on upright bass then even better!!
12. Can I post the Björk/ Skunk Anansie video again?
13.
Do a metal version of the Bjork song .problem solved ,)
OOh, and opportunity to watch thins again. Björk makes me feel funny when she screams!
14. And a garbage one: I much prefer this version to the original.
15. Bit of a cliche, but
16. SunnO))) live: Turn it up as loud as possible! And some Stephen O'Malley
17. Mark is only 20 mins from my parents, I live 2 hours away though. One day I'll walk in there with more than £60 to spend...
18. Pedal sounds amazing. Video irritated the hell out of me.
19.
I hope my bass doesn't turn any stomachs but if it does, I have more pics.
That is awesome!!! More photos please!
20.
The screens are probably about an inch and a half wide, plenty big enough! They're hard to see in daylight unless you get very close (like trying to read a digital watch with the sun shining on it) but its never caused me any significant problems. Clear as anything at your average venue. And the tuner is very very visible!
You can adjust the contrast to assist with that.
21.
In the context of a thread discussing 'how does the bassist in Tool get his sound and how important is the Wal bass in achieving that sound?', I don't think that the natural non-Eq'd sound of the Wal is of fundamental importance. Essentially, I think Justin Chancellor would still sound like Justin Chancellor if he was using a Musicman, Spector, Sadowsky, Warwick, Fender Precision or any other four string bass tuned D A D G played through his set up.
Kinda proven by the fact he's recorded with Wals, Stingrays and a Thunderbird and sounds pretty much exactly the same.
22.
Is that a wooden pickguard? A little too posh for a basic workhorse like the ATK imho
Probably a bit of wood effect sticky backed plastic... EDIT: Nope, it's rosewood...
23. Goat, again. The album is on spotify. It's the 2nd best album released in 2012 so far! Goat – World Music
