1. I use my Steve Harris P that cost me £850, or a EBMM Stingray that was £650 s/h, or a Warwick Corvette Proline that's cost me about £300 (including s/h preamp, and all new gold hardware) of a Dean Edge 4 that cost me £200.
  2.
It's quite true. 'You can't polish a turd,' and so on and so forth.
When will people stop using this incorrect phrase?!?
  3. My faves were the Marshall JMC800 and the Orange AD140B. Didn't think the Marshall would be a favourite.
Will it do a decent sounding octave up?
Depends on your definition of decent. I'll try to do some recordings later if you want.

Battery? It can take batteries? It lives off it's power supply so I don't know.

    New Zoom B3

Still love mine. Gone through a few different phases with it. 1) Recreated a smaller version of my pedal board (phaser, fuzz and mild overdrive) and only used the Zoom 2) Added EHX small stone and Bass Big Muff back on to board and used amp modelling on the Zoom 3) Bought an LS-2 had pedals on one loop and Zoom in the other. which leads to now and tweaking a few patches I've set up, still using LS-2 so I can keep a reasonable dry signal going through the mix. The only thing I'm not really liking is the tuner, seems to be a bit out compared to my Polytune, tuner in Amplitube and the tuner in Reason

  15. Bought a tab book off Steve. Prompt delivery, no hassle. He even wanted to refund me the £1-ish change when the postage wasn't as much as he expected. Cheers Steve Liam
  16. can you not grab the ends with pliers? Or have the other two snapped below the wood?
  17. I changed the original bridge on my Squier JV for a gotoh 201 (it was cheaper than the 203) because the original bridge was appalling for string alignment. My Steve Harris P has a factory fitted BadAss II and the bass looks and sounds great.
  18.
Saddles too high? Lighter guage! Who the hell uses 11's? The hulk?
I used to have 13s on my Tele and Strat. Figured if it was good enough for Stevie Ray Vaughan it was good enough for me.

  22.
A couple of years before this happened, I was asked to join a band by a school friend - I turned him down (twice). This band went on to be hugely successful and influential and so far have recorded fifteen albums over 35 years. They influenced Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Faith No More, Foo Fighters and Napalm Death, among many others. They tour regularly, and have made a huge fortune. Dave Grohl occasionally sits in on drums with them. Am I bitter and twisted? OH, YES!
Killing Joke?
