1.
Pardon my ignorance, but can anyone recommend an Octave which offers both clean octave up and down? Does one exist? I am that clueless! (Not necessarily at the same time but that would be a bonus!)
Electro Harmonix Micro Pog does this.
  2. As per the rules, you have to but a price to every item you're selling. Thanks

  4. If that's the price then I'll be selling my Ampeg PF-500
  5.
Hey guys, I just have to chime in - and can be corrected if I am wrong - but if you are wanting a Steve Harris bass tone, you need neither a Pod or a Sansamp. Steve played a large part of his career with just a Trace Elliot preamp, straight in to power amps and then 4x12 cabs with EV speakers in right? No modelling or crazy gubbins. So I'd say, the only think you might want in the set up you have already to add the signature clicky top end might be a graphic equaliser pedal. The P Bass with an SD pickup like Steves will do the rest for ya! - Turn it up loud and play lightly.
Spot on dood
  6. That sounds amazing! If I don't win what I'm bidding for on ebay I'm going use the money to put towards one of these!
  7. I can't tell you what the best one is, but I can tell you the Behringer one is very poor.
  8.
Bit of research suggests that Jeff Caxide from Isis would use a Fulltone Bassdrive and an MXR M-80 for his distortion, with an Aguilar Tone Hammer for his pre-amp, amongst a whole load of other modulation pedals. Have a look see: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_cz9To5JXsNo/S4kOk-St9II/AAAAAAAAB8U/i275gnJxCPg/s800/ISIS_JeffCaxide_Pedalboard.jpg
He likes a scooped tone then. I wonder what year that was from, he ended up being a Justin Chancellor clone on Wavering Radiant.
  9. Good luck, I haven't seen one advertised for a few years now.
  10. A lot of hair metal bands used this sort of thing in the 80s during their ballads. Main bit of song on mounted acoustic, then lame guitar solo on electric.
  11.
Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately that's an AC rather than DC power supply so won't work for the OP. 15V is very difficult but, depending on the actual pedal, it may be fine at 12V or 18V. I would advise checking with the manufacturer of the pedal.
One day I'll learn to read...
  12. This goes to 15v, not sure of ampage though... 13. Listening to Fugazi, live in Leeds 31/10/2002. Amazing set. What I love about Fugazi is they never used set lists. They react to how the crowd responds and how they feel. But they're so tight as a band they can launch into a track without a count in and not miss beat. Will be listening to Detroit 01/10/1995 next.
  14.
I'm currently listening to Living Color's 'Vivid' - a bloody classic rock album!
Cult of Personality popped up on my iPod today. Fantastic! Amazing live too.

    New Zoom B3

I'm interested in it because I have no need for amp modelling, I have a compressor. But I want to see if any other effects are useful in my band. Rather than spending hundreds on various effects pedals I can get this, try them out for a while and if they work get a separate dedicated pedal.

    New Zoom B3

    The only price I could find was ¥23,100 (£192-ish), so £200 - £250?. (Amazon.jp have the B2 for the equivalent of £74 and amazon.co.uk it's £79)

    New Zoom B3

These types of unit are getting more and more tempting.
  22.
bump and this http://www.ebay.co.u...m/190604429843? 750 ftw?
One of my mates was selling all his pedals including one of these. I asked him how much he wanted for it. "Mate's rates? £100 to you" My over enthusiasm to get to a cash point made him stop and rethink. One quick check on his smartphone later... "erm, I think I might just keep hold of it for a bit" I don't think I could have taken it off him to be honest, he needs the cash more than I need the pedal.
  23.
Bit of both really.... although both of mine have been really rock solid. Plus with the set list we now have.... there is a lot more synth bass being used, it's much easier just having two units set up and being able to switch between patches is quicker than trying to up/down switch through them on stage. I do really need a third unit
The lack of an up switch always confused me. I did make one in the end, but it always felt like Akai cut corners. Still, they're brilliant pedals.
  24.
Nope you are very correct....... I am looking for another though ;o)
Investment for the future, or are you expecting a double failure? Sometimes I think I miss not having one anymore, then I remember I spent most of my time getting annoyed by it.
