1. Over the last couple of days I've been digitising old vinyl. Here's a sample of the sort of thing...
2.
My post-punk listening on the underground home tonight: The Pop Group and Cabaret Voltaire. Not one for Bilbo .... or probably anyone else on BC (maybe Steve Soar!)
I haven't heard that in a while... nice choice!
3. The Tele bass looks nice... wonder if Dimazio Model Ones would drop in easily?
4. Another couple: Klaus Flouride. I love his DK stuff. Joe Lally - both is Fugazi and Solo work is fantastic.
5. That's a lovely looking bass! Looking forward to seeing the final product!
6. Andrew Weiss gets a mention now and again. Two that come to mind straight away that only get mentioned in passing: Rob Wight - NoMeansNo Mike Watt - Minutemen, fIREHOSE, The (new) Stooges
7. Can I nominate a bass my dad sold in 1971 for £60? His '62 Fender P in some kind of pink colouring (Fiesta Red is too dark, Shell pink is too light). If he still had it, it would be in mint condition, with it's original case and all the paper work.
8. This is one of my favourite bass tones ever: and so is this: (shame it's horribly low bitrate versions of either)
9.
Okay... how do you post youtube clips now?
tags and put the whole url in, I think

10.
Should also add I also always associate StingRays with Ned's Atomic Dustbin - the low parts tackled by a Ray, the high parts by a Rick. The ultimate bass players band in a way.
Or a bit earlier and it's a Stingray (Matt) and a Gibson Grabber (Alex)
11. Always hated the term 'grunge'. I think the media and the fashion industry latching itself the music scene and, inapropriately, jamming that hideous lable on to everything in an attempt to reach a new market. The Pearl Jam film refreshed my memory to the $900 "grunge" designer outfits. That's the kind of thing that destroyed it.
12. If it had had a built in tuner I wouldn't have bought it.
13.
Extinction Burst by Primus =D new album is great if you ask me!
Just listening to the album. I like it so far. EDIT: makes me want to have a bass synth pedal again though...
14.
Nirvana - Bleach (Deluxe)
Just under a week until the 20th anniversary of Nevermind's release. Just over a week until my 4xLP picturedisc ships!
15. some Shellac
16. Oh god. a reputation system? Never seen one be worthwhile before.
17. Here's one of the vocalist in my old band (he's the one that's dressed... for a change)
18. They've got quite a few Behringer pedals cheap: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=+beh...6.c0.m270.l1313

20.
Brew Dog are where it's at ! ok, soundclips will be as early as i can do, when i get around to my mate who has proper facilities for it. my zoom h2 is great for remembering stuff, but not good enough to post ! patience my friend.., ..buy one anyway. they're grrrreat (in the words of tony-the-tiger).
I'd need to sell, non musical, stuff first... Should pull my finger out and actually advertise it all really...
21. I'm seriously tempted to get one of these, not sure how much use it'd be in a punk band though.
i've managed to synch it up with a drum machine via midi, to control the lfo speed and put a fuzz or two in front. soundclips in a coupla weeks, when i get a few more presets sorted.
Nah, post what you've got now. I can't wait a few weeks! Nice avatars you've had recently. I love a bottle of Brew Dog now and again...
22. Find some OM. May not be quite what you're after but it's just bass, drums and vocals. I'm in work, so can't post youtube links...
23.
All hail Saint Albini!
My copy of "Mastering Audio: The art and the science" by Bob Katz arrived yesterday. A quick flick through shows there's a bit in there about loudness.
