1. My PF-500 arrived this afternoon, had a play at home with it and it sounded great! Took it to rehearsal and it sounded amazing, right up to when it started to cut out. I guess I'll be ringing Digital Village in the morning about a replacement...
2. I picked up this today from Mylkinut (cheers mate, by the way). This is the first time I've played, let alone owned, a Stingray. I have to say this is one of the nicest basses I've ever used, it's just so easy to play and sounds fantastic!! Ordering an Ampeg PF-500 on Monday. Tuesday's band rehearsal could be one of the most fun yet!!
3. Does S gas include Sunburst?
4. Sold, back to it's previous owner. Cheers Jon. B
5.
The photos are swapped on that page - if you look at the description it says that the SR900 has black hardware. The OP's bass has silver so it's the custom one. Another old Pitchshifter fan here. I'm jealous.
DOH! I blame a lack of coffee...
6. I think this one would be ok: http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=EMI...de=manufacturer if not there's a page of them: http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?manufa..._Way_Crossovers
7. Looking at the link you posted and the images, I'd say you have the Drop-D bass. Which, according to the link, is an Ibanez SR900... I was a huge Pitch Shifter fan before they discovered samplers, after that I was a big Pitch Shifter fan.
8. My dream amp... Good luck with the sale.
9.
Oh well, purely in the interests of research you understand, I'm about to find out if I agree! I expect delivery this week - 5HH in Honeyburst, Maple board and white pguard.
I, too, am testing this theory. I collect a Stingray next weekend.
10.
Its all swings and roundabouts. A Stingray makes you play better, a Jazz improves your IQ and a Precision increasres penis length
And a DB?
11. eurgh...Not my kind of thing AT ALL!! Still, they're good musicians...
12.
Its a custom shop 55p bass in blue metal flake and it has been lighlty reliced.
I read that and my first thought was "Blimey! That's cheap!" Lovely looking bass!
13.
It was everything i'd dreamed of and more SO HAPPY! I was going to make my old white squire P bass into a rockin' bass but now it's defo being an Iron Maiden tribute bass!!
Is he still using a white one then? Maybe next year's Steve Harris sig will be white, with no crappy football graphics...
14.
Anybody remember this
Of course!
15. £87 for the upgrade... The Balance interface looks interesting too...
16.
Nice one! (I'm jealous...). Let us know how you get on with it once you've had chance to give it a proper test-drive. I guess the merging of Record into Reason makes sense - a single product is probably much easier for them to market, plus it's perhaps less confusing for newcomers to Props software. The update seems very reasonable to me at $99 (£65 ish), assuming you already own both Reason & Record. I could easily blow that on a single VST!
Yeah, I don't think I've used Reason since I updated to Reason/Record. I hope to get a proper go with the Beta this weekend, I really want to hear a bass going through the Pulveriser and the Alligator.
17.
I'd expect the guitarist to make it to the end of the song with a missing string and then change strings in about one minute between songs.
That! and I'd point and laugh. At one gig my guitarist's amp blew a fuse and died. Me, the drummer and the vocalist just carried on and finished the song.
18.
I could fit a thumb rest, but I'm useless at DIY! Would I just screw it in, or would I need to drill?
Whilst I have fitted a thumbrest by just using a very pointy sharp screw I tend to use a drill. You could always try the no more nails tape, not sure how well that'd work though. Still, cheaper than an unused pickup...
19. I've got the beta of Reason 6, but have only spent about 20 minutes using it. I guess they've merged Record into Reason. The new toys are very nice!!
20. I'm picking up a Stingray in 10 days time and currently use a Fender P. I also use my fingers to play and I use the pickup as a thumbrest. So I guess I'm in the same position as you, but I'll just use the Stingrays pickup as a thumb rest. You could always fit a thumbrest.
21. Today started off with Red Sparowes but I've switched to the Iron Maiden back catalogue.
