1. Have you considered Overwater strings? http://www.overwaterbasses.com/index.php/buy-strings-online But it's best to phone them...
2. I was offered a choice at my gig on Saturday night. DI from the amp or the Sansamp or a mic'd cab. Due to a small stage I opted for DI'ing from the head. I didn't want to be knocking over a mic or have an extra cable trailing across the stage. The sound guy was happy for any of the options.
3. I wish I had the money, I've been after one of these for years!
4.
You could get an SVT-2 and an 810 for that.
I know. I didn't say the Ashdowns were sanely priced.
5. Sounds about right, considering the LB30 is £1,350. But they're both still a tad on the expensive side, to say the least...
6. First gig for a long time last night. From my side of the stage it was pretty good, a couple of fluffed notes due to nerves but nothing serious. On the opposite side of the stage it was a different story. 3/4 of the way through our 4th song the guitar went very quiet. Me, the drummer and vocalist finished the song whilst the guitarist messed with pedals and cables. But things were terminal for his 15w Laney valve combo, looks like a valve blew. The guitarist from the support band ran off to his car and brought back his amp and cab so we could finish our set. Which made up for the fact the bassist turned up without his rig...
7.
Designed for killing people! The best tone i have ever heard, with enough power to discipline guitarists. So full of sound, full of tone ,that i don`t want any other amp for the rest of my life, worth every gram it weighs
That is my dream rig, you lucky sod!
8. Mike Watt and a little bit of the rest of fIREHOSE:
9.
Blixa Bargeld
He's got WAY to much of an ego for me, plus I couldn't put up with his tamtrums. I'd like to jam with Jochen Arbeit EDIT: Changed my mind: Warren Ellis, with him on whatever instrument he likes...
10. The guitarist in my band bought the R24 last week, we'll be trying it for the first time a week today. Tonight's rehearsal is for a gig tomorrow night. I'm trying to get him to bring it tonight anyway, so we can at least give it a try...
11. I can use both, but much prefer using fingers.
12. So it's tone that's different to you're own? Would have to be Justin Chancellor's, do I get all his equipment too?
13. If Saturday is a better day for people I'll see what I can do...
14.
In the mean time I'd like to start a petition for rich to bring his Wal

+1 Never seen a Wal in the flesh, so would be a rather spiffing treat!
Noooooo, I've avoided being near these for about 18 years for a reason!
15. May 1st is good for me. I can bring: MarkBass LMII 4X8" 1x15" (both basically Ashdown minis) Fender Steve Harris P NS Design NXT4 EUB Random selection of pedals
16.
a bass terror
Good man!! I just hope I'm around when this happens...
17.
What else can people muster?
All I've got to offer is a MarkBass LMII, a 4X8" cab, a 1x15"cab. My Steve Harris P and my NS Design EUB. I'll bring them if anyone is interested. If someone has an Orange Terror Bass they could bring then I'd love to try one out... (if I haven't said "sod it" and got one by then)
18.
I am guessing this bass is good by the positive reviews. I saw a new one today for £775 and might get it.
Yes, it is good. Very good! £775 is a bloody good deal. Most of the prices I've seen recently have been £1000+
19. I odered strings from them last year and they were very slow. I emailed them a couple of times to find out what was going on, I got no response until they answered and email to say the strings had been sent... 2 days after I'd recieved them...
20. I've never owned one. I bought my first tuner a couple of years ago, after 20 years of playing, which was a behringer rack tuner. Then I switched that for a Polytune.
