1. How about a few more wristbands...
 2.
Perhaps the 'battery clip' person was having a bad day - not an excuse though.
Quite possibly, as the email I had was very abrupt. Something along the lines of: "We do not carry any parts for our pedals so sending a spare is not possible."
 3.
Really? What did you need? The part they sent me is probably only about a quid's worth mind you (if that!).
The battery clip.
 4.
Ps. which one of you stole my usual username bassmandan
Erm, bassmandan, perhaps?
 5.
Just thought I'd share it with BC - I bought myself an Ashdown Hyperdrive about two years ago, which almost instantly developed a faulty footswitch. After a bit of waiting about, I got a replacement from the shop, but then in the meantime I somehow ended up in a country band, so the Hyperdrive stayed in the box. Fast forward to now, I'm getting a new noisy-arse rock band together, and get my Hyperdrive out, only to find the exact same fault as my first one!! After a couple of very helpful emails back and forth, I tell Ashdown's service department that it's probably not worth the cost of shipping it back and forth, and ask them to confirm the type of switch I need to buy to do a DIY repair. Two days later, and there's one dropping through my door, free of charge! Nice to see they'll go out of their way for a customer who's warranty expired 18 months ago! Top blokes, full marks!
Yet they told me they can't send out parts for pedals.
 6.
Dimensions as follows: Approx: 28" height, 24" width, 16.5" depth. Measurement excluding castors which are approx another 2.5"
That doesn't sound like the mini. Cheers though.
 7. This isn't one like the ABM mini 1x15" is it?
 8. It's a shame to see them go down hill really. I had great experiences of them back in the late 80s early 90s. Living in Coventry most of my contact was over the phone. I ordered a Hipshot D-Tuner from them back in 1988 it took weeks to arrive, after I phoned them to enquire where it was they apologised for about 15 minutes over the delay (bearing in mind back then 28 days delivery was pretty common) they sent me a Bass Centre T-Shirt (that I still have) for free. I managed to visit the Wapping High St store twice, including one visit where I dropped a brand new Wal MkII 5 string (the strap was looped up and pulled off the strap button). I was a little mortified but the bloke just burst out laughing and said it was his fault for putting a strap on it in the first place.
 9.
The other colour choice was Black. The Black ones went for more money (retail) as no-one would touch the Purple Finish. Of all the 10th Anniversarys I've played (4 of them) mine felt best. So I bought it. And for considerably (£350) less than the Black ones were.. In hindsight, I think Yamaha were quite brave with this colour scheme, and at least they went the whole hog- Painted neck, Purple fretboard, and matched cover on the neck HB...
I love that bass!!
 10.
Those of you who liked "Got the Time" by Anthrax would be suitably impressed by the (original) Joe Jackson version, I feel sure. +1 on Overkill, Rollins, Infectious Grooves etc. Edit-Well, that went well, didn't it. No good deed goes unpunished...
fixed. Clutch! Classic! More Rollins, from the end of the Andrew Weiss era
 11. 4 strings for me, but I do own a 5 string bass.
 12. A bit of Motorhead: Now Einstürzende Neubauten:
 13. Ooh, Count me in too! Thanks!!
 14. Another Google UK here too!
 15. My much abused Aria SB Elite:
 16.
also the rollins band for me, the old stuff with andy weiss on bass was killer, but also later stuff with melvyn gibbs (ex-defunct) also great.
Back in the day I was a huge Rollins Band fan. It all ended with Mother Superior becoming the band, Get Some... was a half decent album mind... I saw all 3 versions of the band live and the Melvyn Gibbs version was immense!
 17. First one that comes to mind: Nice and Sleazy - The Stranglers
 18. One of my favourite Opeth tracks:
 19. The first one I can think of. A nice early live version:
 20.
Yes, ironically. White too!
But they are more expensive, aren't they?
 21. The last time I used a place that had equipment to hire they had a totally f***ed Carlsbro combo with a torn speaker and a 2 x 10" combo with one blown driver. Fortunately now we use a place and only hire the room (£20 for as long as we like) and use our own amps.
 22. I'm another JJ Burnel + Steve Harris type, but mixed with a bit of Moose Harris.
 23. Have you thought of these: Orange Crush Micro You can get them for about £25
 24.
Don't worry mate, the payments over 9 months would have worked out quite large...and there's still the sunburst (which is lighter).
£150 a month is pretty manageable, to be honest
Hahaha that is so, so true
The first (currently only, will have to change that soon) time I went in to the shop I was after a strap from my newly acquired Steve Harris P, that I was very happy with, Mark asked me what basses I had. I told him about all the old/dodgy one and then proundly mentioned the SH P. His response was something along the lines of: I set up this shop to show people that getting one, maybe two really good basses is much better than having a collection of average ones. Slightly crestfallen I agreed with him...
 25.
Pete Do you mean peaches as in Presidents of the USA??
I'm going to guess The Stranglers
