2.

I LOVE NoMeansNo!! I have been listening to:
3. I really like those basses when they came out, especially the blue with maple!
4. Ok, here's a bit of audio, the playing is rubbish as I'd just got home from work and I'm shattered. Audio link Let me know if the link doesn't work as I'm linking to soundcloud and I never used it before... 0:00 - 0:13 Uneffected bass 0:15 - 0:24 Cry-Baby set to normal 0:25 - 0:41 Cry-Baby set to "bass" 0:41 - 1:40 Cry-Baby set to "bass" & distortion on 1:41 - 2:11 Cry-Baby set to normal & distortion on 2:11 - End Cry-Baby set to "bass" & distortion on (ending with playing mainly with heel down) The mod is a little extreme set as it is, I could change the positioning of the main control pot to change the freq. centre (if you know what I mean)
5. I should have chance this evening to record and upload something...
6.
Haha! Listed three of my favourite shapes LOL! A vampyre with the Corvette $$ pickups would be almost my perfect bass,
The Vampyre (specifically the Dark Lord) is the only one I'd buy if I had the money.* * I do have a Corvette Proline, but it was dirt cheap.
7.
http://www.wah-wah.co.uk/ Mods under 'DIY Resources', sweep range seems to be the bass specific one.
I've modded my crybaby like that. I'll upload some sound samples later, if I get chance.
8. That's why I have http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/index.asp bookmarked, rather than their homepage
9. The band I joined used to play a cover of Racey's Some Girls, When I say cover I mean they've taken the lyrics from that and mashed a few Ramones tracks together to form some kind of bastard child. I refuse to play it, mainly because I have some metal block and can never remember how it goes. On the subject of christmas tunes, we have a song called Christmas Sucks.
10. Boris: and one with a sequence from the film The Fountain
11. A little bit of Nick Harper: and the best one:
12. Some Tuvan Throat singing:
13.
first time i'd seen 'em. they were cool as.
They seem to gig over here every year. They're insane, in that way only Japanese musicians can pull off!
14. I've seen Melt Banana a couple of times. But only managed a brief glimpse of them at last month's Supersonic Festival...
15.
andy weiss is one awesome bassist, the solo starting around 3:20 always blows me away..
Shame Mr Rollins thought Weiss was an egomaniac!
16. Well, that's solved my GAS problems for a while. I was planning on getting that bass after Christmas... Fine choice though, well done!
17.
For me, since a young age I was attracted to the electric bass sound on the radio and on records, by mid teens I knew I wanted to play bass
That and this:
2 words... steve harris iron maiden was about the first band I really took to when I was a kid
Plus my dad played bass in the 60s and always talked about it.
18.
Best use of Bass Chords i can think of ATM:
In a similarly simple but effective way:
19. In my old band I played chords all the time, in my new band I'll chuck the odd one or two in.
20. Here's video of my band practicing a couple of weeks back:
21. Or, if they're using a Mac: Select the "Auto flip new images" option...
22. Off the top of my head I can think of this: http://www.ehx.com/products/germanium-4-big-muff
23.
I had one and sold it for £75. I regret it so much i'll never shut up about it..
In a similar vein; I bought mine for £70, new! I'm learning to not go on about it now...
