  1. The sun is out, the sky is blue, it's Friday and I just walked by this lot and grinned. Today is a good day!
  2. I got to have a quick go the other evening. A quick blast through For Whom The Bell Tolls and Call of Ktulu. I'm surprised by the fuzz side being a pretty decent fuzz, wasn't paying too much attention to the 2 different modes. The wah is really nice. There's three aspects I need to get used to: 1) the travel of the pedal isn't very far compared to a Dunlop or the expression pedal for my Zoom B3 2) you need to keep the pedal very slightly down or it bypasses the wah 3) the delay in the wah being bypassed, I guess that's so it's not continually switching in and out as you rock the pedal. But over all I'm really happy with it. Plus it's freed up a space on the pedal board now I don't need the B3.
  3. Bored the other day and flicking through shop websites and saw this on offer on Anderson’s. A Power Fuzz Wah. These 20/20 pedals are a much nicer format than the massive classic ones. I’ve got a couple of hours of work left before I can go full Cliff Burton.
  4. Top stuff!! Stagger Lee is a great bassline!! And yes, I could (and do) play it for a long time!!
  5. Just whipped up a quick patch in my Zoom B3 Pitchshift -> Pedal Wah -> Delay. Sounded pretty close. Given some time I could get it closer.
  6. I’d have thought any number of multi-fx units could do that.
  7. Thunder Jet!! 😍
  8. Today would have been Cliff's 60th birthday. Today will me this and Metallica stuff unto, and including, Master of Puppets

  10. An email from On-U Sound lead me to this:
  11. there's the GR Bass Dual 800: https://www.grbass.com/portfolio/dual-800/ Two independent channels
  12. For most of this week I've been listening to Alex Bradshaw's bands. Fall of Efrafa Archivist Light Bearer & Morrow
  13. There's modwiggler.com (they finally renamed it from the cringingly named muffwiggler). It is mainly discussing modular synths, but there are other sections for non modular synths. They even have a guitar/bass/amps section...
  14. Some people find lines help, personally I find them a bit of a distraction. Side dots and mainly ears...
  15. I was quite disappointed by this album after Ungod. But over the years it’s grown on me.
  16. Those bits are very much of their time, but who can edit out Chris Barrie's slightly dodgy impersonations??
  17. I haven't heard that album for over 30 years, but I seem to know the majority of the lyrics!! And it does seriously need a remix.
  18. Yeah, I think being as obtuse as possible is a way to go.
  19. Yeah, she's awesome. Carina and Maynard as a pair are what make Puscifer for me.
  20. My love of Puscifer has now overtaken my love of TOOL: I love how Maynard has a horn to censor the naughty bits in this:
  21. What if you're required to drop mid song? IIRC, Billy Sheehan used that as one reason he had D-Tuner fitted.
  22. Oh he doubled down on it too when I said I had an old Warwick and an Aria SB Elite. "Yeah, Sell them all and get a proper one. My aim is to educate people with multiple basses, to sell them and get a premium bass that covers it all" It took me a few years to buy something from them again.
  23. I find BD quite a strange business. Last year I went there and got an Epiphone EB-3 that was advertised as a 30" scale bass and they were astounded when I said it was 34" (they even got the tape measure out). I was then left totally alone to noodle on it, which is quite nice, I then had to get someone to actually sell it to me. Just after Christmas I went to get a pedal board, but the one on the website didn't exist in their stock. They did have a different board that they didn't even know they had. My first experience with them was back in 2010 when I went to buy a Mono Strap. Mark asked me what bass it was for, when I told him a Fender Steve Harris P he scoffingly told me I should buy a proper bass. My first online experience was to get a Polytune. I had to call them after a week to ask where it was, to be told it was sat on his desk as he'd forgotten to post it. Yet, the quality, and diversity, of stuff sold it pretty much unmatched by anyone else.
