1. Just picked this up for a very small amount of money as a project bass. It needs rewiring and I think I'm going to have it defretted.
2. Hello, I'm in Newport, I think we're still in Wales...
3. I've started using nice 4" wide thick leather straps. Spreads the weight and stops slippage. The last one was an emergency purchase from the Bass Cellar and was £25, so they're probably much cheaper elsewhere.
4.
le pub pre stage change over so 06?
Possibly before. Hold on. The image is dated. 2005.
5. Get a Warwick Dark Lord. I'd love one!!
6. Pink's not so bad. My dad often goes misty eyed when he talks of his 60s Fender P in salmon pink... His look then turns nasty when he continues and says he sold it when I was born...
7.
Musky yep, send them to me for a couple of weeks
Weeks!??! I can kill strings in 3 1 hour gigs
8. I still love playing my SB Elite I. £100 ain't too bad for the Aria IGB-49.
9.
i've always thought that if someone came up with relic'd strings (played in i mean of course) i'd probably buy them
Really? Let me have a look in the loft, I may have a few [s]used[/s] relic'ed sets...
10. Means manufacturers don't have to take as much care handling the finished goods. Just sling them about and bump the price... How about Relic'ed strings?
11. Here's some: http://www.jeanbaudin.com/bassgear.html Conklin made them.
12. When I use a plectrum I use the .88 Tortexs.
13. Here's me (on the left, in case you couldn't figure it out) from a few years ago (most recent gigging photo I could find):
14. That RB950MS is a bloody nice looking bass!
15. I could narrow it down to 4 or 5 basses: Wal 4 string Wal 4 string fretless Wal 5 String Warwick Dark Lord Ibanez BTB676 oh, and a Steve Harris P... I think that'd make me happy
16.
Add my 65...
Holy Moly!
1422 + my 8 = 1430
1430 + my 4 = 1434
17. I love maple fretboards too. But all my basses have rosewood. I was looking to see if Ibanez had ever done a bolt on BTB 5 string with maple and I was going to swap necks...
18. Here's a link to the SR-16 voice list...
19. I've found the pickup cover for my Squire!
20. Will those pups fit on my Aria?
21.
I would probably go for the worlds most expensive bass. The $250,000 bass guitar, The Ritter Royal Flora Aurum, was built by Jens Ritter, a luthier, or stringed instrument maker, from Germany. This luxurious bass has a body carved from a rare, solid piece of maple while the nut is carved from 10,000-year-old mammoth ivory. The fingerboard is decorated with a floral inlay pattern made of 24-karat gold. There’s even a black diamond set in platinum decorating each leaf. The bridge, tuner buttons and knobs are cast in gold. The knobs hold an additional embellishment: they are both topped with brilliant-cut diamonds (3.3 carats).
Sounds very tacky...
22.
that is one seriously relic'd jazz bass.
I didn't notice the bass. I was too distracted by the pillow/cushion on the chair...
23. My (actually my wife's, but she doesn't play any more) Squire should have bridge and pickup covers, except I've misplaced the pickup one. I really like the look with them both on.
