  1. Yeah, I do find that the number of inaccuracies on their website/social media posts is fairly worrying.
  2. Back home. New strings, a clean, a bit of a set up and lots of neck dive (slippy nylon strap, will get a better one soon). But it sounds bloody marvellous!!
  3. I expect so, but I've not got a strap with me.
  4. It feels very solidly put together, all the controls are nice, smooth and quiet. As I'm away from home I only have my Zoom B3 to play with and I think the EB's output is just a little too hot for the Zoom. But it sounds and feels great. Looking forward to hammering it through my CTM-300 on the weekend!!
  5. So I’m up in Coventry visiting my folks, for the first time in 20 months. I see bass direct post on FB for an Epiphone EB-3. Someone asks for scale length “30” “ is the reply. Now I’ve always wanted an EB-3 and I was sure the Epiphone ones are 34”. This morning I happened to be going to Leamington, a short hop from BD. So I thought I’d pop in to see. Was handed the bass, it certainly felt like 34”. I ask and the guy said “it’s 30”, but lets check” “Oh, it’s 34”!?. Never knew these came in 34” “ Bugger… So, here it is!
  6. The mole grip type tool looks like a fret press.
  7. I've always wanted to develop a pedal version of my old Peavey Standard (not my photo), sans reverb. One channel clean and the other with drive is awesome! Maybe I'll commission you...
  8. How about these: https://www.rautiaguitars.net/multi-coil-bass-pickups.html
  9. That was the 1st Sunn O))) album I bought on release.
  10. The string spacing on the DP120 is 1.875" and my Aria, at the neck, is 2". The 1/8" didn't really make a difference. The E and G were only 1/16" outside the poles, same as the DP145 in the P position. You should be ok.
  11. I didn't see that on the website, thought they'd discontinued it. If it's wider then you should be ok with that. EDIT: Just found a technical drawing. the DP145 has a total string spacing of 2". At the P position my Fender is 2.125" (2" at the neck position)
  12. The Model One has narrow string spacing. In the P position it might be slightly too wide. I had one in the neck position on an Aria SB Elite and whilst the stings were wider than the pole pieces it worked ok. But the P position might push it just too far.
  13. Love that album. Possibly my favourite Sunn O))) (Life Metal and Pyroclasts are high on the list too). I think I'll have a Sunn O)))-y morning!
  14. Focusrite 8i6 would be a good interface. Bass into one of the front inputs, 2 line ins from the drums (if he wants stereo) on the back. it even has 2 headphone outs Use the DAW as the mixer...
  15. I had an odd dream with Trent Reznor in last night, so today is all about NIN:

😮 christ! I'm so glad I'm not a West Ham (or any other team for that matter) fan...

My SH usually weighs a few oz less, as it wears an anodised gold plate most of the time, rather than the chromed one. But recently I've been listening to a fair bit of Maiden, so the chrome one is back on... for now

Yep a 2010 Blue Sparkle. I can't really imagine how they could make it any heavier...

  20. You'll probably wonder why you wasted the time listening to it...
  21. On the up side: no nasally whiny vocals. well not in the 45 seconds of it I heard
  22. I did recently see Warren Ellis described as the "Yoko Ono of the Bad Seeds" 😆
  23. The Kickass saddles aren't painted a brass colour, they are brass. They also allow for string spacing adjustments, which the Gotoh doesn't. To me that's worth the $15. I have Kickass and Gotoh bridges on basses and they both do the job well.
