  1. After Iron Maiden and Killers, Seventh Son is my favourite Maiden album.
  2. Going back to the OP. It's a fantastic looking bass and I honestly can't see anything wrong. Just variations in the wood...
  3. 60s Teen Pop idol Scott Walker and sludge/drone masters Sunn O))) 6 time Snooker World Champion Steve Davis, Cardiacs and Gong guy Kavus Torabi and Coil member Michael York:
  4. My copy of the Antoni Maiovvi & ANTA album has just arrived. ANTA features an old BC member @joegarcia on bass. They an amazing band!
  5. John Entwistle first got me interested in the bass, then hearing Steve Harris made me sure the bass was for me. But as for influences: Rob Wright (NoMeansNo) Stuart Morrow and Moose Harris Billy Gould Jeff Ament Mike Watt GC Green (Godflesh) and Bob Weston
  6. This is pretty short, so I've listened to it 3 times in a row. It's bloody awesome!!
  7. “That manufacturer” being?
  8. I continually forget just how good that album is.
  9. I would have nominated Led Zep for this category...
  10. I think the last record I bought from Tempest was TOOL - Undertow on clear vinyl for £8.99.
  11. Me and my mate would get the 9am train from Coventry, on a saturday (usually not paying), and spend the day in Swordfish, Tempest, the record shops in Oasis, and the Plastic Factory hunting records and then a large amount of time in Musical Exchanges, playing on guitar/basses that we could never afford. When we got to 17 years old a pint or two in the Costermonger was also part of the day.... Life was so easy and fun back then...
  12. I was never much of a comic nut. But I'd pop in there on my way, from the music shop that became Fair Deal, to the little Bass Centre that was around the corner from N&C. I was mainly looking for horror/sci-fi related items.
  13. Nostalgia and Comics is exactly right Yeah, bad choice tattoos are a nightmare. Which it why it takes me several years to decide on my next one... Personally, I wouldn't want to use the same house as Sharon...
  14. When I went to see Anthrax on the Euphoria tour, in Birmingham, I went to Brum centre during the day and I bumped into them in a comic shop. They were cool guys.
  15. Yeah. I chucked messages at my preferred shops and one replied they had a copy. it’s on its way to me now. 😁
  16. Have you read Scott’s autobiography? Its pretty cool! If a little too brief.
  17. I've only been to Seismic once. I like Alun in Just Dropped In, I remember him from the days of Spinadisc in the Lower Precinct. I'm so hoping to be able to come up to Cov, to spend a week at my parents, and get to Twisted Barrel Brewery and some record shops in Cov and Brum. Do you know if the 2nd hand record stall in the market has survived?
  18. Just noticed you're in Coventry, did you go to Just Dropped In?
  19. The guy behind me had a printed list of stuff he was after. He must have had 50 releases on it. The shop guy managing the queue had a look and said they had them all and asked the guy if he was looking to buy all of his list. The list guy said "of course. I only buy from actual shops on RSD, as I like to support the shops. The rest of the time I can get things cheaper from Amazon" I thought the shop guy was going to drag him out of the queue...
  20. Yeah, once the major labels jumped on the bandwagon it did go pretty corporate and the stock has ended up being largely reissues these days.
