I turned auto update off on my MacBook Pro. I get daily reminders to update, not planning on doing so for a while yet. My 9 year old iMac can't use Catalina, so no problem there... Apart from it's beginning to slow down on certain programs. Logic runs fine though, and that's what counts.

I've got: Bonnacons of Doom on Friday (Liverpudlian Psych collective) The Utopia Strong (Steve "interesting" Davis' electronic band) in December The Wonder Stuff on the 21st December. and I've just book tickets for my first 2020 gigs. Wire in January Einsturzende Neubauten in September. (usually I'll do one or two EN gigs on the continent too, but I'm not sure I'll manage that this year)

There's was only a couple of properly good studio albums after that. Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son. Fear of the Dark is where me and Iron Maiden headed our own ways, after nearly 20 years of them being one of the most important bands to me.
-
And Seventh Son, and writing the keyboard parts for someone else to play on a few albums, then playing keyboards on the last 6 Iron Maiden albums But you are correct, he is better know for bass playing (no sarcasm intended here)

White pearl plate and blocks and white binding...

I'm guessing Fender would have gone with that name if they could...

Well the tag line is: NEVER PLAY A FENDER THE SAME WAY AGAIN.

Certainly not @BigRedX

I saw that earlier and assumed they'd announced the April 1st product too early... Solution looking for a problem?

I've only just seen this thread. That's my video. I made it for the HPF thread on here. I think all the info, along with frequency curves, was in the post I made. It was definitely using a Zoom B3 and was probably comparing single and stacked multiple AcBsPre patches. EDIT:so I've found the post: "With one AC BS Pre on the B3. The synth is running a sine wave 2 octaves below, so it's a bit extreme (near the end of the clip I turn the depth knob up and down to see the difference):" With a following post saying: "I've also just had a look at what multiple instances of the AC BS Pre might do. The frequency plot it unchanged having 1, 2 or 3 instances running." Here's the plot from earlier in the same thread: Top line is off, then Depth 10 - 0 (gain 50, bass toTreble 0) . Looks like once you get down to 15Hz and lower the white noise is a little less stable.

This little Danelectro distortion pedal. It’s fixed high gain distortion with a, switchable, glitchy octave built in. It sits an a box for ages, then when I plug it in I wonder why I don’t use it more...

Starting off on a song at the wrong tempo...
bartelby replied to missis sumner's topic in General Discussion
I was in a band with a drummer who was not a good tempo keeper. If the guitar or bass started a song he'd kick in 10-20 bpm faster... I'd often have to signal him to slow down. Or if he wasn't paying attention I'd have to simplify the bass line, as 20 bpm was too fast for a busy one. We also often had words about it after the gig and during rehearsal. Rehearsals weren't too bad, but he got nervous and pumped full of adrenaline at gigs... -
Oh, I've thought of another sig. bass I'd love. A Shuker JJ Burnel Carbonlite.

I flippin’ love The Cramps!

After three Anna Von Hausswolff and Sunn O))) gigs and a Tim Minchin gig in 6 days, I have a week off until Bonnacons of Doom in Bristol next Friday...
-
I'm listening to STUMM433. A compilation album released this week that has 58 Mute Records artists' interpretations of John Cage's 4'33"
-
I paid £800 for mine, new. I still wouldn't part with it for £2K+
-
Not right now, as it’s the intermission. but Tim Minchin
-
Could have got it signed at the gig though...

I own a Blue Sparkle model Fender Steve Harris. I've loved the look of them since seeing him with one. Just after my 1st daughter was born in 2010, right when it would have been a good idea to not buy stuff and be around more, I joined a band. I needed a new bass as I only had a cheapy Dean. A few months later I noticed GAK had a SH P in stock and ordered it. It's a bit showy, bloody obvious where the influence comes from and is damned heavy. But it sounds mighty!! If I have to get rid of all my basses but one, it'll be the SH P that stays... and the Aria Pro II B&G. Other sig basses I'd love to own are: Al Cisneros Ric Status Chris Wolstenholme

Sunn O))) again...
