  1. My first bass, when I was 16, was an Aria Pro II CSB Deluxe. It was a really nice bass. Medium scale, which is something I didn't realise until I traded it in for an SB Elite. It was kind of let down by being plugged into the amp I had at the time:
  2. A real chrome plate would be ok. But those thick plastic mirror jobs look wrong.
  3. Yeah, anodized gold plate is the only option.
  4. I’m just putting together modular synth stuff. this order is to build a module tester.
  5. That's a great looking bass!
  6. I was just looking in the Marketplace and the update times aren't sorting properly (or not displaying correct update times), the "sort by" is set to recently updated. The screenshot is for the amps section, but the others are the same. Is this just something I've never noticed before?
  7. The new TOOL album. https://music.apple.com/gb/album/fear-inoculum/1475686696 I still say it sounds more like Lateralus era than something post 10,000 Days
  8. I’m putting in an order with Mouser this Sunday. If anyone needs anything small, that wouldn’t be cost effective to buy in its own, send me a PM.

  10. Different size? Bridge one being slightly wider...
  11. I used to use one just to thicken the sound slightly (deep and relatively slow sweep) during the guitarists solos (only one guitarist in the band). I've got a Trace Elliot Quad Chorus that's really nice (but it's become a tad hissy, need to look into this). I did try a Digitech Bass Multi-Chorus, but that was pretty rubbish,
  12. It used to be the Cov branch of Musical Exchanges, but when the Brum shop closed Express Music took it on IIRC...
  13. Thomann have a custom case service. https://www.thomann.de/gb/casefactory.html
  14. Hearing John Entwistle and Geezer Butler on my dad's records in the late 70s then hearing Steve Harris in the early 80s. What was the final nail was hearing Cliff Burton. Nonsensical GAS (is there any other kind?) had already set in as I wanted a Blue Sparkle Fender P, an Aria SB B&G and, erm, an Alembic Explorer... 30 years later I have 2 of the 3 (and several others that weren't on my initial list)
  15. I was given a Marlin Slammer a few years ago. The aim was to clean it up, fix the electronics and donate to somewhere. But the neck was totally screwed; twisted and had frets so lifted they'd folded back over the board. So I turned it into this: Slammer body and sprayed pickguard, left handed Harley Benton neck (nut flipped), shitty Chinese MM p/ups. It actually plays quite nicely. But the £12 electronics let it down, unsurprisingly...
  16. The singles off Out of Time were the worst tracks on the album.
  17. Well that looks like quite a beast!
  18. For me it's everything up to Monster (maybe even some of New Adventures.... But then the quality rapidly drops off. Who knew losing a drummer would have such an impact.
  19. ... for a reason https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-Precision-Bass-1982-84-Japanese-Vintage-JV-Series-VBC/113853602189?hash=item1a8234198d:g:amcAAOSwmcNdVEW2
  20. I came close to buying one of those a few times. But bottled it. Mainly because I wanted to jam a DiMarzio Model One at the end of the neck, and those basses deserve better.
  21. That's a wig? I'm so disappointed now...
  22. It's also not without its risks: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/articles/deathsrelatedtovolatilesubstancesandheliumingreatbritain/2001to2016registrations
