  1. IIRC the Scott Walker/Sunn O))) colab was meant to be some the Monoliths and Dimensions album. But ended up doing a whole, different, album. I still can't decide if I like Soused or not. I definitely need to be in the right mood for it.
  2. Not necessarily just a Mexican issue, the Made in Japan ones are also heavy.
  3. I'm not a fan of Yes or any of Rick's own stuff. But I could listen to him talking about his experiences for hours.
  4. Ænima with TOOL could be quite fun. Brave Captain or Chemical Wire with fIREHOSE

I can do something this evening if needed. I was arsing about looking at the EHX Bass Big Muff tone control and the TC Electronic Dark Matter yesterday.
  6. do you mean 9v & 1.3 amps? If you're only supplying 1.3 volts it's no wonder it doesn't work
  7. The last one, with another humbucker in the middle. Just to cover all bases...
  8. Earlier today I sent a mate a link to some weird Korean hip hop. He told me to listen to Dälek. So I did. Now I'm listening to more. I can hear shades of Scorn, FRET and JK Flesh in this. I now have several albums to source and get.
  9. Fortunately I don't have any! But here's one early on at a gig. With his assless chaps and an elephant pouch... It may appear as though he has shorts on under the chaps. But those were assless too.... and crotchless...
  10. For a while it was a rare gig the vocalist didn't get naked and run around the venue.
  11. His tuning systems are works of art. Not sure I'd want one though...
  12. A few weeks ago me and a mate went to a couple of gear shops in Bristol. My mate wanted to buy some for of drum machine. He'd narrowed it down to the Roland Aira TR-8, the TR-09 and the Arturia DrumBrute. We went into PMT first, they didn't have the DrumBrute in stock. But the guy was mega enthusiastic, without being annoying, he gave a brief and knowledgeable rundown of the workings of the TR-8 and then left us to it, popping back every 10 mins to answer questions etc. We had a quick poke about with the TR-09, but counted it out. Chatted about gigs and stuff with the PMT guy for about 20 mins and then we left. We then headed to Elevator Sounds, a synth shop a mile or so away. After being stood in the shop for 15 mins looking at things the owner sighed, looked up from his laptop and asked if we wanted to try anything. My mate asked about the DrumBrute they had on display. Owner sighed again, wandered over, switched it on and pointed at some headphones. He then went back to his laptop. Meanwhile I was looking at all the modular synth stuff. He had a used module I wanted at a decent price. I asked about it, he replied with no enthusiasm "urgh, If you want it that means I'll have to get it out of the rack... "Don't bother" I said I'm not interested now. I asked my mate if he was getting the Drumbrute. In a loud voice he said "F**k this guy, we'll go back to PMT". and off we went. I'll never go back to Elevator Sounds. EDIT: The guy lost nearly £600 in 2 easy sales.
  13. Newport used to have GM (the overpriced strings example I gave), Speed (the closed shop that had my MP11), Gamlins and Whight Sound (odd place that sold PAs, lights and random stuff. Sold a mint, boxed Roland TB-303 to my mate for £40 because the shop "didn't sell synths") They've all gone now. A few years ago this place opened http://ev-entz.com sells Stagg basses, Stagg amps (with the exception of a couple of Ampegs) and Stagg string...
  14. I had a search to see if Windows had something similar to Apple's Aggregated Device and found this info: http://donyaquick.com/recording-from-multiple-devices-on-mac-and-windows/ Windows info towards the bottom any good?
  15. I was popping in to say; Don't bother, they're all crap.
  16. One shop selling single sets of D'Addarios for more than you can get twin sets for online. That shop has now gone. Another shop going bust and taking my Trace Elliot MP11, that I'd sent in for repair, with it...
  17. After I've bought nothing, musical wise, since the mixer near the end of last year. All my GAS energy is being put into refurbing my guitar amp and finishing fx projects.
  18. So one 4 string, one 5 string, one 8 string, one 12 string, one upright, one 4 string fretless, one 5 string fretless... etc?
  19. Me and my mate had great sound at the gig. The satellite pa speaker, just at the bottom of the picture, gave us a great vocal feed, the drums and guitar cam from the main pa, but the bass was direct from the Ampeg. My mate has been following The Damned since, pretty much, day one. Back in the early 80s he nearly bought one of Paul's Rics, for £50.
  20. I haven't seen FotN since the Elizium tour. When I heard Zoon, I gave up on any new stuff. This might give you some clue. Horrible sound quality and blurry, but obviously the person who filmed it is a bassist.
  21. Well last night reinforced my opinion of Paul Gray. Him being back has lifted the whole band. He is just plain awesome! Apologies to the "camera at gigs" haters. but I was at the front and kept it at chest height. :-p
  22. After seeing The Damned last night, with Paul Gray back on bass, I have developed gas for a big valve amp and a Ric... :dash1:

Don't think Scabies will ever return....sadly there's just too much bad blood
Shame though - I really wish he would return (even for half a set). Classic line-up, and their best.... Black Album and Strawberries :)
