1. I've seen loads of small bands where the bassist bi-amps/multi amps. I've done it for a few gigs. Bass -> Bass Big Muff -[dry out]-> vesta fire DST p ->JJ500 -> 4x8 and 1x15 BBM-[effect out]-> Zoom B3 -> Peavey head-> 4x10 If your sound/band needs it, then that's what you use.
2. The amp is an Acoustic Corp. one, isn't it?
3. I was in London during the week and got to see a couple of gigs. Some psych electronic stuff from Teeth of the Sea and Chrome. Then the next night some heavy guitar based stuff from FckJar, Earthmass and Morkobot. Morkobot are Italian and consist of 2 bass players and a drummer, no vocals. Both bassists had Kemper profiling amps and 8x10s. They were bloody good! This won't be to everyone's taste:
4. I was a little taken aback when I saw how much Ashdown's new Origin preamp pedal is... £369 They've priced it right up against some serious competition...
5. Again, not demanding bass lines but Mark McCarthy in The Wonder Stuff is one of the coolest mofos around.
6. Springsteen's music bores me to tears EDIT: Although I do rather like Frankie Goes To Hollywood's cover of Born to Run. Way better then the Boss's plodding version...
7. Me and Mrs B have a perfect way of doing things. She doesn't make, or expect, me do things I don't want to do and vice versa. I'd never expect her to come to a Sunn O))) or Merzbow gig and she'd never expect me to go and see Bruce Springsteen. Last year her and a friend went to Australia, for 2 weeks, to go to the Philip Island round of the MotoGP championship while I stayed at home with the daughters and dog. They've previously been to Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey and somewhere else, as well as several UK events. I get to drive around Europe with friends to see gigs. Everyone is happy.
8. I'd suggest looking at the NS Designs EUBs.
9.
Fergal Sharkey, after leaving the Undertones and a short solo career, didn't leave the music industry, but worked for some Government QUANGO to do with the industry bit never performed again AFAIK
I saw Fergal Sharkey at the Mute Records Weekend a few years back with Vince Clarke. Performing The Assembly's only single, does that count?

Hi!
Hi, Thanks! Ahhh! You'll have to come back to try some others I think that we have a bit more than 2600 beers now, here... So, take a long week !
I've tried many Belgian beers, not 2600 though! Papegaei, Delirium's beer and Tripel Karmeliet, La Trappe, Rochefort 10 are firm favourites.

12. Christ!! That's not a lot of money for a lot of bass, and a great looking bass too! Well done!
13.
Stuart Morrow, legendary original bassist for New Model Army....now a builder in the Bradford area as far as I know
Moose, another ex NMA bassist, is now in a comedy covers band in the Devizes area
14. I've just bought 3 rolls of Ilford XP2 black and white film. Going to take my Nikon F4 on my Aberystwyth to Haarlem road trip this week.
15.
That's a tiny bit better, still far over what I would want to pay for one (remember when Deep Impacts were £85??).
I got mine brand new for £70. Several years later I sold it to fund the purchase of a Steve Harris P at 5 times what I paid for it...
16. Since getting a 4 string Portamento off here in October I've barely played a fretted bass.
17. I'd love a Hellwood 4P, but fretless...
18.
Also 32bit processor and 24bit audio aren't shabby. Can't remember off hand what the b3 has under its hood though.
It's the same. Although I generally don't use the DI on my B3, it's nice to know it's there as a backup...
19. I had a load of glow in the dark ones made from somewhere on ebay. The guitarist liked them, but I snapped them with in 3 or 4 notes.
20.
Jeff Ament - Pearl Jam The intro to evenflow has a dirty great harmonic slide at the start. I'm sure it's a Wal he uses/used. Ah...missed that someone had already said that...
I don't think he owned Wals before Ten was released. He had an ESP/Warmouth bitsa in the early days.
21. There's this: http://mipuc.com
22. They're great. A few years ago I emailed them to buy a new lever for a D-Tuner. They emailed back within 24 hours saying their products have a lifetime guarantee, so send an address and they'll ship a replacement lever.
23. Wouldn't something like this work? https://www.thomann....renstaender.htm With a bit to hold the neck up
