  1. That's not how I read the manual: "10 - 2TK LEVEL The rotary control sets the level of the 2 Track Tape input, which is routed to the headphones, monitor outputs and meters, or directly to the Mix outputs by pressing the adjacent switch (12). These unbalanced inputs, on RCA phono connectors, are ideal to connect the playback of a tape machine for monitoring. 11 - 2TK REPLACES MIX OUTPUT! This switch does what it says! When pressed the Mix output is switched to the 2 Track input and is an ideal way of feeding pre-show music to the main outputs in live applications without using up valuable input channels. For example, with the switch pressed and a CD connected and playing pre-show music, the engineer can be setting up channel levels, adjusting EQ, talking back to performers and monitoring any part of the mix (including final Mix) without affecting the sound to the audience. Releasing the switch instantly swaps the Mix Outputs back to the mixer and cuts off the CD. CAUTION: Pressing this switch cuts off the normal Mix L/R signal and it should therefore NOT be used during live performance or recording"
  2. @BigRedX just to add to confusion if you google Kent Armstrong pickup wiring you get either this from the Kent Armstrong site or WD Music have a link to KA wiring diagrams that gives you...
  3. I had issues with them in the past. Like single word replies to emails. But that was about 12 years ago, they've been really helpful in recent years.
  4. So I had few mins free this morning and went and did some more messing around, but with the CTM300. Can anyone explain this? All the buttons out, bass and mid set to 100% then setting the treble to 0%, 50% and 100%. At 50% there's less treble than at 0%. Then at 100% it tilts the curve.
  5. Dp they need to be there*? They may as well just have a stand full of colour chips... *maybe from a NAMM financial point of view they do, but not for a showing off new products...
  6. This CTM30 preamp is a bit weird. With the Mid at 100%, the Treble at 50% and all the switches up the Bass control behaves like a Tilt: Flick the Bass switch down, with the rest of the settings staying the same as before, and you get: Sticking the Bass switch back up and putting the Mid switch down gets you: and both Bass and Mid switches down: Remember these are from the DI, running through 2 15" cabs you obviously lose below around 40Hz and about 4KHz... Putting the Treble over about 60% and the highs start to dominate, engaging the Bright switch is way too top end for me.
  7. I quickly scanned through that TB thread. All I could think was there's a lot of Fender and Ernie Ball clones and $2700 for the black Aria Pro II SB-1000 and it doesn't even have the original style bridge!!!
  8. I have the same username across a few forums, fora?. So back when I joined my first one, over 20 years ago, I wanted Loki as my username. But that was taken. So I then thought of Bartleby, as in Bartleby and Loki from the film Dogma. But being dyslexic I didn't spot my typo, until someone on the forum pointed it out. Not particularly entertaining, I know.
  9. So I've done some messing about today. Comparing the CTM300 and the CTM30. Running white noise into them and then taking a signal from the DI on each. So this is with the Bass, Middle and Treble controls at 50% and all the buttons on the CTM300 out and the switches on the CTM30 up. Nothing changed, setup wise, when I swapped the amps over. RTA set at 1/3 octave smoothing and 4 averages. I have about 30 more charts for each of the amps. So I might post more
  10. I didn’t think it was too bad for a bunch of 60 year old millionaires playing at being angry and such.
  11. Yep, reacts in a very similar manor to the CTM300. The mid and high shifts seem different though.
  12. I'm hoping to get time, this weekend, to do some proper analysis to compare my CTM300 and CTM30, EQ wise.
  13. The CTM30 and LB30 are pretty much the same amp, so you should be ok.
  14. Yeah, that's the bit I can't find edit: actually: if this is what @bass_dingerneeds he can have it.
  15. I laugh, but if one came up in the right place at the right price. I'd probably not be able to resist... And fortunately the CTM-200R doesn't match the look of the others.
  16. Good call. Moose on the 3rd and 4th albums is pretty good too.
  17. Some nice noisy hiphop, similar to Dälek, from Backxwash:
