1.
I'm actually starting to appreciate the black 'n' maple thing...
That's because it's the best combination...
 2. What happens if you just go direct in with you bass, bypassing all the pedal? Do you still have the same issue. I have no problems with Basses--> with/without pedals ---> Focusrite Scarlett --> iMac & Logic
 3. The whole of Philip Glass' Koyaanisqatsi, but Pruit Igoe in particular gives me goose pimples every single time..
 4. Looks pretty much like my JV, except the F neck plate of course... The end of the fretboard has seen some abuse from the strings!!
 5. I do not need another acoustic, I do not need another acoustic, I do not need another acoustic, I do not need another acoustic, I do not need another acoustic, I do not need another acoustic...
 6.
I play acoustically at home. I wonder why more people don't play unplugged?
After about 6pm I'll either play unplugged or through my laptop into headphones. The idea of playing through an amp at 9pm seems absurd to me...
 7.
I've got an sr16 and I find programming it a lot of pain (i'm actually a programmer by day) I'd recommend hydrogen
Back when I used my SR-16 a lot I used graph paper to write out the patterns, if I was using step programming.
 8.
I think Metallica were auditioning around 13 years ago, that would do me nicely thanks!
Pretty sure those auditions were for show... Me, I'd pick Einstürzende Neubauten.
 9. A few years back I got a pretty beat up 1995 Warwick Corvette Proline for £150.
 10.
My program needs a complete rewrite. After some research as to how to detect dekos.
Told you so...
 11. Hey AT: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbd200_12_bk_deko.htm Edit: also a LH violin bass http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_beatbass_vs_lh_vintage_deko.htm
 12.
My program checks every ten seconds or so. I tune out until it brings something to my attention.
Unless you're out having a life...
 13.
My take is the mobile version is very dated. I check the deko page maybe 10 times a day and don't remember many of those. What's the reason for sold out lists apart from salt in the wound ?
I check both the 'mobile' and 'desktop' several times a day (because I'm sad and desperate) and I can't remember many of the ones that showed up last night.
 14.
How do you cope with the extra floppiness of the E string when down-tuned to D? When I've done it manually, the normal E string was far too floppy tuned to D to be comfortable to play. Considering that the difference between the A string and the E string is generally 20 which is for 5 semitones difference in tuning at the same scale length tuning to D should require the string to be another 8-10 heavier to maintain the same feel. And as someone who also plays the guitar, I have a separate guitar with an extra heavy E string that I keep permanently tuned in drop D so that the lowest string is not controllably floppy about and sounding out off tune.
I found it perfectly useable with a Roto 110 gauge E. These days I use the D'Addario balanced tension set with a 120 gauge E, But I don't use a D-Tuner anymore...
 15.
I'm not sure that the sold outs that appear on the phone list have recently been for sale. I think that some of them are much older dekos.
I'm not 100% convinced by the mobile version of the site either, but I've never seen a Warlock copy for sale before.
 16.
I am on the look out for a VT2 EQ after selling mine too. I know it's too big and you need to make sure you have the right power supply but nothing has come close for me and that's after a whole number of drive pedals.
When I had mine I did wonder about reboxing it. But 2 things stopped me. 1) anything that would replace it would be just as big, if not bigger. 2) too many holes to drill... I need to flog some junk and buy another...
 17. Anyone else read this? The Who say they were sabotaged at Glastonbury Pete Townshend says show – which was as a last-minute replacement for Prince – was one of their very worst http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jul/10/the-who-say-they-were-sabotaged-at-glastonbury
 18.
I'm not convinced that whats on the mobile version of the site actually reflects what they've had. There's regularly things that are "sold out" that have never appeared on the desktop version from what I can see.
I know the mobile version lags behind the full site version by quite a bit. Chances are the items appear on the full site and are gone before you see them. Maybe AT can track the mobile version too
 19.
i saw the massive list of sold outs this morning too. Bit annoyed i missed the HB JA-60SB guitar, always wanted a jag but dont play enough guitar to justifiy buying a full priced one!
Yeah, my deko want list now has: 1 x 7 string 1 x Jag style EDIT: and the last thing on the list AT was a 12 string
 20.
I've just got back from swim practice now, surprised that this hadn't been posted. Though, it's been a while since we saw anything really surprising. Where are the Thunderbird dekos or the Semi-Hollow dekos?
When I loaded up the mobile version on my iPhone, this morning, there were loads of sold out Dekos listed.
 21. Hi, I'm going to be adding coil select and phase switches on the weekend. I just want to make sure my wiring will work. The phase switch is just an on-on DPDT switch (I know that will work). The coil select is an on-on-on DPDT, this is the one I'm not sure about. Assuming I've got the correct pairs of wires(green and red being the hot) from the humbucker, will this work? cheers
 22. I'm slowly shifting all my 4 strings to the BT ones. The 50-120 set are by far the nicest strings I've used in a long time...
 23.
Why do I keep checking every evening and morning for dekos? I don't need any more basses. It's now part of my routine, like brushing my teeth, last thing at night and first thing in the morning. I DON'T NEED ANY MORE BASSES!
I do that and check at random points during the day. I'm only after a 7 string guitar now. Then I can stop looking... maybe...
 24.
Depends what you do with it. If you just want to liven up a boring amp - *cough* Markbass! *cough* - thicken up your tone and have a bit of grit, it's just the job and great value. If you want it to sound like an Ampeg SVT-CL on full song through an 8 X 10 you are going to be a bit disappointed. The VT Bass is much better at that sort of thing.
The former, and I was still disappointed. I had a BDDI (sold that too) before the DHA and hoped the BDI-21 would come close. But it didn't. I wondered if I'd had a faulty one, but listening to youtube clips proved that wasn't the case. May be I'm just really picky
 25. Why not just get something like this and use your laptops http://www.korg.com/uk/products/controllers/nanopad2/
