1. As a session player with a jammy bassa run of cool bands to play in then I'm going for Doug Wimbish. As a bass player in a band - I can't see past Phil Lynott.
2. Slap bass is like sex and pizza. Even when it's bad it's good.
3. Just bought a '75 re-issue Fender jazzer from Kenny and I'm delighted. Great bass and a cool, helpful guy into the bargain. Cheers, Kenny!
4. Dunno if this helps or not, but I traded this with lewyyy and the bass is a cracker. Thoroughly decent bloke to deal with as well!
5. And it's also now sold - off to England. Now I'm in the market to buy a Fender Jazz
6.
what about the moffat bass bash???? thats quite north of England.
I'd love to! When is it - I know Moffat well
7.
No worries! I don't actually need your bass but your photos are so beguiling, even without the birds
See the next time there's a basschat get together in northern England - I'll come along and photo basses for others and give some tips on how to make the best of what's before you. One proviso - Tom1946 also attends and gives a demo/tips on setting up a bass. i've paid for pro-setup jobs that aren't close to the wonderful work he's done with this jaguar.
8.
Don't suppose you fancy a TC amp instead of a Jazz? Am guessing not!
i'm trying to sell an Ashdown ABM EVO II combo myself at the minute - thanks anyway
9. Another angle as requested - cheers for all the interest!
10. As stated earlier - it's in great nick
11. Yep, I always try my best to ensure that everything I offer is a beauty.
12. Hi guys - only had this for about a week and I like it, but I'm still hankering after an everyday jazz. I stuck an ad in the wanted section to that effect and I've had a few offers, two of which are simmering and may yet come to fruition. On a less important note, but a valid point nonetheless, at 50 I can't stop thinking this makes me look like an even stupider old twat clinging to his youth by every means available. So, if I sell it I'd like back the £395 it owes me and that cash would go towards a jazz. Or - preferred - a trade for a jazz with cash either way. I'm in no mad rush as this bass is not only sounding the bollocks and is in great condition, it also plays beautifully thanks to the fab setup provided by TOM1946 who had it before me. He could also confirm I'm not making a single penny on this should any of the site communists be concerned we are rushing headfirst into a cesspit of capitalism.
13.
I started a band with an unhappily-divorced S&M Dungeon Fitter
I'll add that to the list of no no's.
14.
Men are possibly more prone to violence, but at least you can hit them back if necessary. One good punch back would probably have stopped her in her tracks, but it's not really the done thing is it?
Hitting back has bugger all to do with gender. Absolutely the done thing.
15.
Oh dear!!
Erm, yes. She could of course be a guitarist too, but our thinking was surely designed to try and ensure we don't have another violent lunatic on the presumption men are more likely to be so.
16. As we feel our way around the idea of returning to playing in a band (I've been with the same drummer for about 15 years now and keys player for ten) we have started to alk about adding a singer or a singer/guitarist. To get the talent we want, I'm certain it means we need to invite a mentalist into the mix again. The last two times of band implosion have finished on violent notes and I was wondering if there might be some ideas as to how to avoid the worst of the mentalists. Much as I'd love a guitarist, our current thinking is a female singer and go down some Portishead type path.
17. Too many, but listening to regularly recently Led Zep - When The Levee breaks. Yes - Our Song. Thin Lizzy - Dancing In The moonlight. Gap Band - Early In The Morning. Jah Wobble - Kojak Dub.
18. . . And a few more of the Fender '75 CIJ.
19. White Yammy BB3000 if memory serves me correctly.
20. . . Stingray I once owned. It now lives in a recording studio in Nice.
21. . . . . Just looking through some old photographs of basses I once owned and came across this beauty.
