1. I doubt I'll go but, I can say that if you love the stones and could go and enjoy it for whatever it's going to be this maybe your last chance. I missed CSN the other year, I know stills was struggling, but I regret not seeing him, If I get the chance again (which i doubt) he will be older still.
 2. Yeah I remember gigging with a stingray copy (before the net) and being really happy, until I started mixing with other bands who had better (or at least more expensive instruments) then it started. I wouldnt say I go over the top now with basses as I don't buy what I can't resale and reasonable loss (although I've tried alot of amps) but without the net, I could be happy with a squier I'm sure.
 3. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but it's not about amps. I know some on here do gigs where you have good pa support without bringing backline I'm considering doing this soon, but it's scary I know that at the gig in question theyll refuse to di my amp and will take it from the signal input, so any tone produced is wasted anyway, and the foldback will have more than enough bass in it Goes against the grain, but just wondered if this scared anyone else when they did it first time ?
 4. In the early days, through the space head 2000 light years, disco miss you, tumbling dice, to steel wheels, wyman did exactly what was needed on bass to make them the band they are.
 5.
I'm just always surprised when people stand up and loudly say "I'm a musical thicko and you should be too..... and your expensive bass is *****, mate!"
Seriously , does anyone really do that?
 6.
Seems like it's also quite fashionable to say music theory isn't necessary to play bass
It's been done for years, I don't get this, the only thing it rules out are reading gigs, everthing else is doable, from weddings to festivals and stadium concerts. So it's not nessessary is it.
 7.
there's quite a lot of people on Basschat who are proud and quite vocal about playing a Precision (with little or no music theory in some cases)
What has music theory got to do with it?
 8.
He"s very inventive and totally original. Just a really great player.
This
 9.
If there are other bands I put my bass back in its case and out of the way of others. If we're the only band I put it on a mini Hercules stand, out of the way of others.
Same as this

 11. Hope the family get him back, and if not at least knowledge of where he is or what has happened. This is why I don't want my kids to age
 12. If its just the gig in the park you wished you could have done, then you'll get over it, it's just a one off, gone when it's gone. But if you are feeling you'll miss the next steps the band may take due to that gig and direction then you may need to reconsider the decision, and if that's not possible, then make some serious efforts to become happy with it. I've met a fair few people who have a what if story and they haven't moved on in years. Re, depping, if that's your binding rule then fair enough, don't think it disrespects anyone else, I dep for a few bands who wish to keep their covers/functions things going when a member can't make it, works for me, I'm not offended if anyone sees that as lesser?
 13. 6 music live on iplayer has a concert by them at the m
 14. Yep great band, where did all the love go
 15.

Gigged that a few times last year, with the bass breakdown in the middle from the original , great song to play
 16.
So - I have a '78 Fender Jazz, well, it's a '78 neck on an 83 body and an 83 fingerboard (I think) - with Nordy pickups and a Schaller bridge; so already a bit all over the place
As you say its not stock anyway, and if its a bass you love, its what you want and its a professional job do it MIght be nice to make a judgement on value with and without, just so you know, but I think thats hard to call anyway

 19. Going back a bit since I brought and played 6 strings, but on a budget Westfields and Tanglewoods always seemed way above their price range
 20.
Bad Manners - I just lurve those bouncy bass lines.
Just got one of these on a set list, im pleased, Bad Manners seem to have hit a chord with my son also, which Ill encourage
 21. I'm not a slapper (really) but love to pop the odd note, but want to ask, do good slappers use limiters or the like as a general rule to help control the sound?
 22. Love the pick, she is the grandmother of punk
