Factor

Normally a classic fender lover, but Im quite taken by the look of the xfactor bass used by John Taylor, love the sound also (seriously bad bass name though) Anyone know of these or use them ?
2.
I can see a load of responses saying 'feel' and all that, but even with 'feel' how do I really know what is right for a song, and what isn't?
There is only Feel & Theory, and varying degrees of mixing both, Perhaps de construct some basslines you like to see what they have done over each chord/bar, changes, repeats, variations etc
3. Been happy in the past to push tickets for fundraisers etc, but certainly not as part of the deal, and certainly never would be forced to cover the ticket costs before sales, even for a charity let alone a private venture!
4. Just been learning some of these bass parts, what a fantastic use of the bass Any transcriptions or other links I might find helpful please post
5. One of my old bands are doing a festival early afternoon and a street party late afternoon, I hope for thier sakes it turns out nice, but I'm happy I'm having a lazy day with the family
6. No it's your bass What model is it out if interest ? I love the body, want to swap for a lake placid blue one? I'll even route it for you
7. P bass does everything I want it to for covers from Duran to Motown (with the foam in )
8.
Probably not the answer I'm looking for, but I guess it's a P width neck?
Specs says Modern C neck, nut width 1.625" (41.3 mm)
9. The term expert can be applied to what is humanly possible to achieve, so yes everyone is learning but there are experts, just like a doctor can be a consultant / expert in a field, but obvioulsy fall far short of being able to do or know everything Y
10. To be an expert I guess you would have to have incredible theory knowledge along with sight reading, along with an incredible feel for all styles, and a perfect ear at least? Complete competency is undefinable so I think it should be allow for a pro with the above skills to use the word expert on his CV and still recognise the they are able to progress I've been playing for 25yrs for fun and pocket money, can copy most songs with a nice feel so I'm told, but have no Clue really
11. I've had my mim p up for £350 it's newish with a brand new replacement neck (fender fitted due to fault) Have bumped much but had interest initially I reckon it would go if I lowered it to £300, had someone pull out who was willing to pay the £350 but for reasons not connected to the pricing of the bass No harm in you offering for every bass you like, you may find you get the deal you want
12. Could we have some pics up please?
13. I'm quite into the album and like the fact it's not over produced, almost like an old garage band recording Need more bands like this IMO I'd guess their next album will be more in keeping with how most people want things
14. Did an audition as a drummer where some band just threw random time signatures at me, they where just showing off
15. It's why I love my CIJ p bass, it's sounds and pays great, but has dings and chips in it, so I don't stress about it out of the house It may also be true that a lot more is brought new these days, I remember gigging when I was younger, everyone had 2nd hand rigs tat where already road worn cosmetically (and bloody heavy so hard to move around without bashing them)
16. You'll have to send it back or forever have the hump with it However, 2 sheets of paper is not a huge gap, might be worth a cold call to fender and ask what they'd deem the maximum gap passable on a new model As for dead spots, your paying for each note on the board to sing if it's new
17. Ahhhh I feel like I'm being tickled
18. Nice approach Totally boring std old fender, the prefect bass IMO
19. Seems there was a craze of owners stripping their fenders back to wood in the past, and some do look great. Was wondering though now these vintage instruments are being offered up for sale, how much does this effect the price say over a good condition paint finish or an aged but original finish Its hard to gauge, anyone in the know have any opinions ?
20. I'm looking for a natural, but this looks great
