1. dont post your address or im coming round with a lock picks
2. Just got directed to this thread after posting on another that seeing this band on later was very refreshing indeed
3. Bass is bolt std 2009 MIM, and sports a brand new neck which was fitted at the end of last year by fender UK It has not left the house since returning from fender (was gigged before that time), has new stock strings, and is set up well Price is £350 , would be interested in part trades for natural stingray, or possible other P basses (but Id be fussy about colours)
4. Every now and then something pops up on later which really gets me going, I mean seriously good IMO, but it's kinda like waiting for Brighton to score a goal, you have to watch a lot of stuff in between to get the high I'll always trawl through it for the gem though
5. This bass is lovely , was tempted, congrats to both seller and buyer
6. Did you buy to sell? Or why shift it one week later? Hope you don't mind me asking
7.

Hi all, this is my first post. Did I read somewhere before that a mute should be placed below round wound strings and above flats? Would appreciate your thoughts on this. I recently acquired a 57 AV P bass with flats and a bridge cover and am interested to know where the foam mute should be placed in this configuration. Great to see a thread on Babbit, who I feel sometimes is very underated. Just love his lines on signed, sealed, delivered and midnight train to georgia.

Welcome to the mad world of basschat I doubt there is a must with regard to how someone mutes their strings, never heard of this rounds/flats idea, but would be interesting if there were something in it
8. Ive a bit of foam I can change in seconds, its taller than it is wide, so it gets pushed through sideways then turned into place, great when I go from a poppy number to a motown type feel To be honest though, dont think anyone notices, but it gives me more confidence in my playing as I hear the sustain gone
9. Yes either sort it yourself or to use the car analogy above take it to a local bass garage, fender Japan will have little interest in helping you I'd guess Good luck

I'm looking for a ray but this is not my colour, a bit less and its almost worth a refinish, can't believe this is not gone, have a bump
11. oh bugger, just got the joke was going to offer 8.5k for the lot shipped
12. Played a blues festival once and bassist after me played upside down , left hander on std bass, chatted to him after and reason was he learned on his older brothers right hand bass so never needed to buy a lefty Can't play the clips above but remember the flea one, foxy lady I think
13. These things make me go dizzy, its like one of those optical illusion things.
14. Wayne if you decide you'd rather spend it on more football shirts I'll honour your promise of purchase for this bass Always fancied a sonic blue mm
15.
Monkey Man - dunno who did the original
Toots I believe, yes gigged this song last year with other ska stuff, extremely good fun to play live
16. If new then you'll most likely get a slightly better price going with an online order but won't get to try the actual bass in a shop, you mention vmj , I guess the prices on something around that mark won't vary that much new from most guitar shops
17.
How long ago was that then buddy? What you playing now?
Been through loads, currently have ampeg pf gear, I only need a light rig for functions etc, but you do miss the presence that even just one of these cabs has on its own, as I said nothing can compare. Think my last cab went on here about 2 years ago, it was just sitting in storage, should have kept as may regret in future Saw a band recently where the guy used this full rig (wasn't you was it ) , amazing
18. Didn't know about this until now , thanks
19. Don't need anything flasher than a Fender P or a basic Stingray, I've had a Ric but beyond that I've no interest in anything else, whilst unlikely this is subject to change
20. The most amazing rig ever, I've never found anything smaller that could ever get close to comparing, and I've tried loads since I sold my orange
21. lojo

sold

Very tempting , lovely looking bass
22. Regardless if this is gigs or any other commitment to provide a service, In these situations you have to honour your promise, but that does not mean you can't get out if it Ask the landlord if he would really be that bothered at this stage to reschedule, and explain that the other gig will be good for your band, but all the time stress you won't back out of your commitment to him unless he allows you too, most decent people will appriciate that and unless they have a serious reason to insist you stick to your date (such as putting effort into promotion etc), hopefully they'll let you pull out But you have to be prepared to play taking that approach
