You'll find a better selection of second hand MIJ Fenders from Ishibashi here. Ishibashi won't sell you a new one, but they always seem to have plenty of second hand ones in good condition, plus a whole load of other stuff that might take your fancy. Unfortunately the Pound-Yen exchange rate makes them rather expensive these days and don't forget to allow for approximately £100 for shipping and 25% of the total price for Import Duty and VAT.
they have a serious amount of stock

resurrecting the terror thread as I gigged my new one on saturday it was always going to sound great, as it was a rock covers gig, looking forward to next week when gigging it with a pop covers band, I am hoping it will just sound great as is, my aim is not be be tweaking knobs all the time any more
Every buyer I have dealt with bought and paid for the gear in one sitting, every trade I have made went smoothly, every bit of gear I bought without seeing has been as described and was sent as soon as payment was made (or even before) Must be lucky
This is the same for me for around 7 or 8 deals in and out, I only put the stops on one guy throughout all these deals To be fair, all mine have been fairly stock items, perhaps if you are selling more top end stuff it might get more picky I think everyone just needs to be honest, even if they have a change of heart and wish to pull out of something, just say so and sorry, no lies needed

In any music, I prefer when the bass just does a something special for a couple of bars, when everyone else backs off, not sure if you'd call it a solo, but just enough for you to go "ooh, thats nice" then its over In Jazz, most go right through the whole progression with each solo, which most often for me is to much to take in equally though, Jazz bass solos do need to be enjoyed through a decent system, its no good listening to it on naff TV speakers

I don't think there is any absolute with me I did my first gig with a band last week that Id not gigged with before, and to be honest, although I learnt the set well enough, I didn't really go that mad, as I don't find the songs I didn't already know that inspiring, but after doing this first gig with them I am now listening to those songs alot more whilst driving, not because I can't play them, but because the gig was very enjoyable and I am now seeing those songs in a different light (ie emotional motivation rather than work based as Bilbo mentioned above) As non pro covers players, we owe it to our band members and the punters to know them, especially if there is a fee involved, however small, but I wouldn't stress about the difference between us and pros That would be like me worrying about not practicing free kicks or corners enough as sunday football player Re unproductive sessions, you need someone to take charge and drive it in most cases, but there really is nothing like a looming gig and a set plan to focus the mind

Just getting into feedback on the site now, so this is very late Met last year, halfway between our locations, enjoyed a cuppa, some basschat, and the exchange of funds for his 3TS precision Good guy to deal with, hope your keeping well

Sold my TC RH450 to luke this weekend Top notch bass chatter, transfered the money as soon as we established the deal terms Hope you enjoy the amp mate

re which pick up to rest on, it really doesn't matter, whatever sound / comfort mix you are happy with re not moving your thumb down strings, personally I don't always, or perhaps only as far as E to reach D and G strings, although I can do if I choose I can play anything cover wise like this, unless it involves a lot 16ths, so for me its not a problem But, you may find a real technique teacher might suggest that it may limit you in the future, I really don't know If your concerned about technique, then Id suggest seeing Jakesbass if you can get to him, its worth a one off lesson, just to assess yourself, you can then choose to stick as you are or take the hints

Cheers guys I was just concerned that the Orange was wired in such a way that you had to use both sockets, 1 to drive each 8ohm cab, but its now clear it doesn't matter I went through the whole of the late 80s and early 90s playing, without ever worrying about this stuff, why now then ? Looking fwd to tonight, first gig with new orange amp
I think that should be fine as the cbs are in paralell and its still a 4okm load, i dont see what difference it makes. For info i accidentally ran mine on a 4ohm load at 8 ohm setting for over an hour a while back and it was fine.
Thanks, i guess that makes sense as a 4ohm cab would draw it all from one socket, so 2 x 8ohms chained of each other would effectively be the same as plugging in 1 x ohm Am I right ?

I wish to use my new terror bass tonight, with 2 TC cabs, but was wondering if someone could help answer the following question The Orange manual says use 2x8ohm with the amp set on 4ohm, one cab from each of the 2 outputs The TC leads are very short, as they go from cab to next cab, so you cant reach both speakers with them direct from the amp, only the closest one I assume that running it from one output to 1st cab then from 1st to 2nd cab would be incorrect use of the amp? Is my only option to go and get a longer speakon cable ? Silly Question I know, thanks for any help
I noticed that if you only have one speakon socket on a cab then people who are planning to use it with another cab ask why and at that point you then know they're planning to use it with another cab. As our cabs can handle far more power than most then it's rather a waste to add a second non-Barefaced cab when you could just throw more power at the Barefaced cab, because once you've got a second less potent cab in parallel then you're restricting how hard you can push the Barefaced. Plus, adding a second cab that isn't designed to work together can cause rather random performance.
BTW, do you still have the barefaced cabs doing the rounds, Id be keen to try one with my new terror, I think I am going to pass on my TC cabs and go for a 1 cab solution
We chose not to discourage daisychaining unsuitable cabs with ours. We can't stop bad practices but at least we can make it more difficult!
If the wiring in a Amp from the first connector to the 2nd is effectively daisy chaining what is the difference, or is it to do with the length of the cables?
Seems to me like flavour of the month. It was Markbass at one point and now it's TC
Im waiting for my Terror to turn up, am I ahead of my time or living in the 70s ?
McVie always had great tone.
I've always loved Sara, (the song, its not a confession) simple lovely line, I might be wrong, but I think Lost in the Supermarket Market has a part that uses a similar line ?

Just re reading the OP, it seems, although Im not sure, that the question is what goes down well in a pub Well, there are tons of tracks listed above that do, but i honestly believe that as far as most pub gigs go, if the band are fairly good and lively, then a good crowd will enjoy most things, most punters are out for a good time, its the handful of arms folded geezers who you need to impress with song choice, and usually the more glum they look, the more they are enjoying it
Bit of a dissapointment that the RH450 only has one output really IMO
To be fair the corporate giants TC, the space on the rear panel is packed with features already, and they provide 2 sockets on all their cabs
Whilst that is definitely my kind of music,i think that you will find that more than one of the bands mentioned used a Jazz bass most of the time.
Yep, it is so, but strangely though it seems these days, most people with jazz's use them to achieve the brighter side of bass, and those wanting old school seem to do it with Ps

I've just sold my RH 450, and Patch, your RC4 will be in the post first thing These amps are wonderful, i've throughly enjoyed having it, great features, my reasons for selling are not because of anything I dislike about the amp Re: GAS, yes the forum does fuel it, but then again, years back without the internet, it was harder to buy and sell second hand, now you can own a bass and pass it on, without to much loss, I effectively just rented a jazz bass for year
-
I've now stopped trying to emulate the correct sound for the various covers I play and do my own thing with a flat strung P bass The sound described here is where its at, along with the Motown etc. CSN going on right now

I called around most shops in the SE, no stock, most shops said they could get them quick or they where due in around now Eventually rang Orange, who confirmed they don't have any, and no shops are getting them until May at least Guy at Orange was very helpful and I got one from on mail order from a shop he found had stock, I got the one of the last 2 Funny how the outlets don't keep up to date with the reality of the supply
-
Got one, cheers guys There getting scarce

As title, anyone know of outlets with current stock or terror 500 ?
