Well eventually got my RS210 today, so first gig tomorrow with it on top of my RS212 Will let you know if it falls down and drops my RH450 through a tom tom Looking forward to it, it might be overkill (Pub) but been really enjoying the 212 and it will be nice to have something on top to give more clarity and monitoring Good thing about tomorrow is someone will be using my rig before me, so I'll get to have a proper listen Got a bigger hall gig in 2 weeks, this will also be a good test for it

I have a jap p bass which I paid £450 this year, it was exactly what i was after, 62RI 3TS with flats on, set up well and used so I wouldn't worry about using it, and priced in line with others Id seen go I also have a MIM 2009 P bass, which I guess is worth around £300 2nd hand (think I saw one go for £325 on this forum), best price I saw on these new Hope that helps
Horizontal...if you are worried about it.
Im hoping to get my hands on a 210 before the weekend and gig it vertical on top of my 212 Id be very upset if this was not very stable as its one of the reasons I start going this route Do I need to go into the shop and try playing lego before I get the 2nd cab?

Inspired by something I read on the US, where afroman posted his TC head settings http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php...p;postcount=938 Was just wondering if anyone who owns these heads has settled on any settings that emulate another make or style, if so please post them Personally I am still messing around with mine, not trying to find a good setting but trying to find which one I like best This thread might fall flat, but it could be interesting
I was wondering that.... If it's already at the end of the horn, as I presume it is, its not as though you can move anywhere useful. Best advice I had is to get a very wide strap made out of some kind of non-slip material (leather with a soft inner surface is good). Also, try playing about with the position you play in... neck horizontal, neck at a steeper angle, etc. You may not be able to stop the neckdive (without shaving the neck and headstock significantly) but at least you can make it more manageable.
a counter weight around the strap at the bridge end I only played once with a neck dive bass, I got backache from standing in a weird stance to compensate
My thoughts exactly. It has been said that the export aren't quite as good as the non export but I can't say I have ever noticed. It's all good
It seems to me this is one of those things that has just become folk lore, and gives credit to an non export instrument over a another not intended for it, regardless of any real difference Be nice to hear from someone who has real in depth knowledge of the business
Still got the 4x10 and 1x15, the 8x10 destroys them in terms of tone and balance - should really run them all at the same time really before I sell them... got to love endorsement deals lol
Do it! What project/band was this supplied for then?

Mate, I think orange cabs are simply the best sounding, so an 810 wow, just don't stand to close

The large outlet near me will offer 2/3s of what they think they can re sell an item for At least its clear and you know what they expect to make

I went through the stage of thinking i should upgrade my 2009 MIM, mainly due to talking myself into them being not that great due to its price However a year on, a handful of gigs on it and comparing it to other basses ive played or heard played over the year, I am now sure it does provide a very decent respectable passive fender tone Do you really need to upgrade it?

I went to a small gig the other night, the bassist was playing a Sadowsky? which looked like a Jazz bass, he also had some serious backline Anyway, whilst he was a very good bassist, sound wise, It did not impress me over a fender, it fact it lacked something a std fender would do, it could however be the way he had the knobs set and they could be miles better
Lojo if I got on with the Ric neck I would be absolutely all over this! I still have a hankering for a Ric! Lovely.
Cheers Alan and MM I am most comfortable on precisions and although this is slightly fatter, the neck does not bother me at all, its very playable Its nice to not be bothered if this goes or not, it really is something special, its just not getting used outside the house, which is a shame, but this could change in time if it stayed here Thanks for all the trade offers so far, shame nothing has worked out so far, Id be unlikely to take anything other than fender Ps or a ray, but no harm in offering other stuff on the off chance
the language we communicate with is music, if you can not read music you are musically illiterate. Illiteracy is not good.
I've just scanned this thread as this subject has been really on my mind recently I cannot read, most people I know who can started reading during school, collage or private tuition when they where young, something not everyone is fortunate enough to have trust upon them at a young age even if they desire it Whilst playing in the church recently, I commented I felt insecure, as everyone there can read except me, the girl playing keyboards said that she would have to stop playing if her sheet fell off the stand, she admitted be to just as limited, but in a different way Reading music does not give you talent, just as being able to read and write does not give you imagination to invent fiction Both however do open doors and worlds that are hard or impossible to access without the said skill, but it is a learned skill and anyone given either music reading or written word reading skills should appreciate both are a real gift to be given Do I wish I was not musically illiterate, yes very much so, but sadly I have to many other priorities in life now to devote time to learning to read music and believe I will get a return worth the time sacrificed, I may of course be very wrong
