He is going to stick with it and try a Line tube gtr amp..as the effects box is a good idea and better than seperates, he thinks. For me, the jury is still out so I'll see how his latest trick goes..
Yeah, a real tube is not easily replicated Although one guitarist I know says his marshall tube does not sound good at low volumes! even during a practice? there's a tube draw back for you, or is it?
2. I am seriously considering one of these heads, they seem to good to be true (although not tried it yet) I am also not sure about modeling, but 2 guitar players I know now have their versions, they seem great and both of them are very pleased (and not easily) I have been using the LM2 for a while whilst searching for an orange head 2nd hand, strangely now I think both will go when I settle on something new to play with
3.
Right people, this is going to gut me, but I need the money now .... bump down to £650! find a cab this awesome for that price.... Silly money. someone take this before I realise I'm mental...
Again, if someone would take my orange cabs! BTW how would this be with a LMII head? not sure about the 6ohm thing, just used to 4 and 8
4. I only own a MIM but I have to say to grows on me more and more the more I use it, I dont think I will ever part with it As the last post, they have been used by fantastic players across all styles and still are Perhaps, just those simple pickups right between usual bridge and neck pick up positions we see on other styles of basses is really all that is needed, and anything more is a fancy toy Fancy toys are fine and fun, I love them also, but I am just saying I dont think music live or recorded would have suffered to date if nothing beyond the p bass had been invented All the famous players of the past who used the j type set-up, would still have sounded great on a P
5. Hi, Lazy question I know Just sold my old combo amp which I use for playing along to MP3s with Headphones on And now wish to purchase something that will do that at home taking less space, and provide me with more choice of effects than needed for my covers bands and new gigging tuner would be handy So an Multi FXs unit is on the cards BTW I have an old (very old) zoom 3000b which I use only as a tuner these days, would it be an insult to offer it for sale? I know I would'nt get alot but it may make someone happy
6.
Nobody likes these basses ?
Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but yes, people do like these basses, being based in Italy may be
7. I really am quite interested in this but have the following issues 1. I am in surrey 2. I have 2 orange cabs, which would have to go if I go down the markbass route
8. What price is this currently at? I am tempted to get something like this to go with my littlemark head and give up my quest to complete my orange stack That would mean I would have to sell 2 orange cabs (or at least one)
9. I have the same colour and board on my MIM I brought mine new early this year and love it
10.
I have also heard that its the in ear deal and for not interfereing with monitors and the singers microphones, whatever the reason i think it looks awesome.
Yeah not plugged in, just very nice tables
11. I assume the cabs are the ones in my pic to the left < ? if this helps till you get your pics uploaded As per my text, I am looking for the amp only, if that ever becomes an option for you
12. Hi I have one of these cabs also, just wondering if its sold as I have a friend who is keen on it and I want to give him a fair price Thanks Shaun
13.
That is cheap. Where have you seen these? Most 500s seem to be in the £400s. The Mag range will be cheaper, but then it is the MAG range, not the ABM
beware the mag range if your going to push it, I brought a mag head and 2 cabs earlier this year and sold it at a loss after one pub gig perhaps its ok with you are not going to drive it that hard
14. I have used my SWR workingmans 15" combo which I think runs at about 100w without an extension cab However this was with a fairly low volume jazz band I now play covers with some full on guitarists and a loud drummer and the combo does'nt even cut it at rehearsals! So as someone else said 300w + if you wish to hold your own in a loud pub/club band if you dont always have a pa to go through Not very technical advice, but from experience

Bass album

What I am suggesting is to create an album/playlist that showcases different types of bass and playing approaches So.. Each poster suggests a new classic track and should state type of bass played and any other info they have Each new track should feature a new model/make of bass Unless you can specify a major playing difference from one already used (such as picked instead of fingered, or flats instead of rounds, fretless etc)
16.
how on earth has the wait got to 3 years??! Thats longer than most boutique luthiers, and surely demand can't be that high when you consider the rrp of these instruments for what they are! Anyways, good luck with the sale, although i dont think you need it
When I was looking early in the year most shops where quoting 2 years but no promise I have seen the odd batch of Jet Glos quoted as in stock on the net , but never followed up as I wanted a maple, which eventually I found on this forum I even tried to order from abroad, put they cant ship to UK, so you have to go or get someone to buy it and bring it back!
17. Been keeping my MB head in good condition along with box so I can trade it for the tiny terror when it arrives, assuming I like it
18. Is this idea still ongoing If so, how longs the list? Love to try one
19.
Fair point... It's just the story behind it i suppose, and the NWR connection. Also it's a bit of a one off. The thing is, if it was that great, would it still be on Bass Centres website after 18 months?
It seems there is no asset to be brought with this bass, so whoever buys its buys it for the "story" etc, because it means something to them But should understand they are unlikely to shift it on quickly, or recover anywhere near the initial outlay You have to really want this for you, and for the long term
20.
Used LM2s seem to be changing hands for around £400. I would think they are a fairly safe bet, as I haven't heard of many failures considering how many of us are using them.
My first use of my LMII head had it burning hot, fan did'nt work I called the shop, who at first appeared not to believe me, so I even doubted myself To be fair to them, when I pushed the issue they had a replacement waiting behind the counter when I arrived, straight swap for new one
21. Has Bernard Edwards got a signature bass? MM stingray with writing on the neck could sell for a few more $ Not sure what budget MM copies are around these days, I have (out on permanent loan) a Tanglewood MM copy from years back which is a great budget bass
22. someone should tell Lemmy that bullet belt will scratch the back of the bass body
23. Quote from basscentre "Once we were satisfied with the feel and sound of the bass the reigns were handed over to Martin Sims to give the bass that authentic vintage look...." Does that mean he made the mark at the top of the bridge pick up or is that a flaw in the photo
24.
The main difference seems to be the relative weakness of the MIM pick-ups. I picked up a new MIM sunburst JB in 2006, swapped out the bridge for a Badass III, the white scratchplate for a Fender replacement tortoiseshell one (for that 62 reissue look) and a pair of classic Seymour Duncans and still saved myself £300 off the USA model. The Badass really helps with getting the action down, general intonation and definitely gives a beefier sound (as you'll know from the Geddy), I'm not sure why Fender don't fit them as standard. The SDs are just miles better than the standard pups.
I have a MIM P bass, I love it and have no intention of replacing it, therefore I would be happy to spend a little on upgrading the pick -ups if it will improve the tone What will the SDs do for it and how much are they?
25.
Fender Precision - Punk, workhorse, obvious, simple, bland, boring but great, perfect bass tone.
If I were a punk and could sing in perfect tone, Id be a P Bass then
