1. I'm hoping I'm not the only one on here to have had a mental block on stage with a song that was 2nd nature ? Re McCartney , he might have the opposite excuse, whilst he's had years , how many 1000s of great songs he got in his aging head ?
2.
I don't think it would have sounded like that from His rig
I made a point of getting right up front , in front of him and his rig. The last band is seen in the venue I was at the back and the bass was non existent in a rock context
3.
although I acknowledge that there may be bits of it I can use, I just can't listen to it for more than a couple of seconds
4.
We played brown eyed girl and Daydream believer.
You mean you played covers ? !!! Surely the audience would have preferred 20 original orinigals , could you not provide that ?
5.
spare room beckons methinks
If you've a spare room with enough space to sleep in you don't have enough gear
6.
Hmm. Paul McCartney has had oodles of time to learn his parts yet he still has a big PC monitor onstage scrolling his lyrics as can be seen quite clearly in the attached photo... http://blog.eventim.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/paul-mccartney-tickets-2016.jpg
That's cool , we don't often have that much room on stage in front of the mics though
7. If you want to be an Iron Maiden tribute id suggest reading from an iPad might not be sensible , but if someone like Lisa Hannnigan or a male equivalent wanted to read prompts from an iPad whilst singing in a bar I'd listen and watch all night. Surely in performing , there are no absolute rules, only models ?
8. Didn't make it past a few sentences , doubt their target player will either
9. Yep, the way I see it Mark King uses his bass to play complex percussion.
10. When I saw Quo a few years ago they joked about the possibility of them going on stage during the gig , they both came accross as very down to earth and grateful for how their lives had been.
11. Saw them a few months back, got right in front of Mr King and thought the whole band where brilliant The support was a very different band but have become my best new discovery of 2016, thier whole album is great.
12. Not usually , but I brought a popmaster book for everyone at work and decided to get an extra copy for myself, does that count ?
13. The Beebs take on if ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/articles/a69cfecc-4b19-45d8-bebf-e850549c4c86
14. Christmas blues show on radio 2 last night was great
15.
Mostly the ones people have tried for a couple of hours and 'not liked'.
this
16. I get to gig London Calling a couple of times a year with an old band that does the odd thing, its one of my most favourite songs to play live , never get bored of it.
17. Is he profiting from any of the hard work you've put in , have you received anything for it ?
18. Last band we supported was a Take That tribute who where vocals only, they asked for our requirements in advance even though they didn't need to engineer a whole band, the performers themselves helped with our sound and they even lent us thier radio mics. They where a top bunch of guys, who wanted us to sound the best we could.
19. If it where me I'd go with his alternate plan but insist the fee stays the same , he can then decide to cancel all together
20. My take (as I use hardwoods in my business) is that it's fine and the suppliers can't be responsible for something so subjective. However if it can be reboxed as unused they may entertain you at their discretion and change the guitar for a similar one, its worth asking if it bugs you. However if I where them , I'd be saying fine , but you have to come and choose the grain you want from what we have.
21. Apparently some amps don't sound great until the go above 2
