1. Anyone who judges what's cool or not is uncool , does that statement make me uncool ?
2. Someone's a lucky sod , give me a shout please if sale falls through but good luck with it
3. Cant help but certainly look forward to seeing what you come up with in progress
4.
Oh? Do tell!
Ive posted before in an effort to get more info, but it appears to be a Rocco Prestia signature model which never got released. There is a couple of pics and one video on line ive found of him using one. Its a nice find, but I was totally expecting to see routing under the pick guard when I noticed it and return it to the dealer. I wonder if it had been through other hands without being noticed (both me and the dealer didn't at purchase) Cant find any reference to why he requested it reversed.
5. I like gigging basses with dings in , we clown around a bit in my current 80s outfit and sometimes clash headstocks etc. I do have a bass I don't want to ding, so I only use that for more formal stand still type things.
6. They are touring as part of an 80s thing next year and at my local venue , but its not clear how much stage time or how big a band there is going to be , so I cant decide if to go or not.
7.
Hmmm. Doesn't look as weird as I thought it would.
No its not easily noticed. I brought that bass from dealer (online I never saw in flesh) and did not notice it until it arrived , when I contacted the dealer to ask about its orgin, as it was stock with no alterations or routing , he was puzzled and a bit shocked as he didn't notice it when he brought it himself. In the end I had to contact Fender, who where quite intrigued themselves, and helpful.
8. I've std and reversed P basses (see pic a few posts back) and there is no noticeable difference in a live band situation at all to me, perhaps for recording there maybe . I do like the fact that on the reverse with my thumb on the pickup the D-G pickup is not under my finger position when digging in. That to me is the only plus, and certainly not one worth having done if it wasn't already reversed off the shelf
9.
I have no need for one
That's what I said about a dishwasher Good luck with the project , P basses are great
10.
He wants to enjoy himself, meet a few players and see what comes out of it. Good luck to him. It ain't brain surgery or a cure for cancer.
I'd agree with this , unless Bonos his hero of course
11. Just enjoyed a few of your videos Love to hear you do Suspicion
12. Couldn't get enough of Relics in the 80s when I was a teenager
13.
There's no rule that says you can't record a whole album using only a bass guitar, there's also no rule to say anyone has to listen to it or that those that do need to enjoy it.
Dave Holland did that
14. He sounds like he just wants to experiment and meet likes minded people and see what happens , nothing wrong with that , totally honest ad , good luck to him
15. We do songs by Blondie , Clout, Heart, Bonnie Tyler, Joslyn Brown, Irene Cara, Tina Turner & Donna Summer. We are female fronted but also do many songs originally sung by males
16. You are specifically looking songs with females on the original recordings , or just great songs that work with a female vocal ?
17. The great thing about forums is the new things you learn , The Beatles ? Never heard of them I'll check them out. Out
18. I like Cliff, some of his hits from the 70s and 80s are guilty pleasures and if Whitesnake had recorded them they'd have been excepted by the masses. He also made a great comment once about how he is the real rock and roll thing , as he lives how he wants and rebels against what's expected of him (like throwing TVs out of windows , womanising and drinking etc ). ,
19. Do you ever go anywhere near Surrey ?
20. There's no such thing as a great song without a great bassline Even if the bass does nothing , it's still has to be right for the song to do nothing , and therefore it's a great line
21. So tempted to sell of a couple of other basses and grab this
22. Yep , I'm gonna check everything he's done Also worth looking up Young Gun Silver Fox , the support band. Different music all together , but Mark King certainly choose well
