1. Might try this later , oddly I only did my first selfie (with my wife) on Monday , would it be a bad habit ?
2. For most things we do , especially if it's not connected to our survival , the questions simply is do you enjoy it ? I enjoying playing bass and football , But Dont need a spectator to tell me how great my playing was for either to matter, don't get me wrong compliments are nice , but if you need them your never going to get enough. As others have said if you play each song as its meant to be , no one can better it
3. In not sure what to add other than , yes his tone is awesome , and it's a biggish band to cut through
4. I think when dealing with anything these days it's about your point of contact , if I arrange something with a specific person I'll always now ask if they'll be there on my return or what days / times they are in and even sometimes call to check . Don't assume anything , but at least if you deal with the same person at least they'll remember the conversation so you don't have to start again It's not just music shops
5. Can I have a bowl of m&m's at each gig with the green ones taken out ? -- Some questions to add .. How do we determine if future booking dates are viable , do we get to say no to a date before gigs are confirmed. (Goes in line with amount of gigs expected to play) For gigs with good paydays and where we can't let the client down last minute (weddings etc) what are the backup plans for deps etc
6. Isn't there a 70s one on here ?
7.
You're and full stop.
Thank you , you're already everything my teachers and guardians were not (weren't)
8.
People see a badge and want it. Like wine, tasting with their eyes. Snobs as most people call them.
So your saying you can't be a blind snob
9. I really hope there are good bassist gigging up and down the country , who don't know what MIA , MIM or CIJ means
10. Not a contender , by my £125 yahama BBN5 sees a lot of action
11. It's to much like J v P for me to get involved Favourite Marley bassline though is Get up Stand up Favourite McCartney is Silly Love Songs (simple and not even Beatles )
12. Gigged it for a while a few years back , lovely bass line , all I could do was add chorus
13. If one day things came to light , in a savile type way , I believe most of the general public and media would choose not to except it , who was that presenter in the middle of it all who introduced a Jacko video and said "it doesn't matter what you do in your personal life , all that matters is the music talent" or something like that ? Still it's most likely incorrect to think there is anything to uncover , that's the problem with this kind of thing it's almost like terrorism , the celebs that have abused put suspicion on others who may not deserve it
14. I said no , but I'm reversing the right to say yes in a very rare situation , one I don't even know yet
15. I'm not up on specific models , but seen a lot of Marcus millers come up second hand over the recent months
16. Interested in the board if any potential buyer only wants the amp Edit Ah, just read the collection only , couldn't do this Good luck
17. I love Double Bass live and recorded , but dont believe I'll ever have the time to learn something different and new
18. I agree with the above about learn it if you really want the gig If your 50/50 then absolutely nail the ones in the set and just be honest that the harder one is to time consuming and see where it leaves you Perhaps they are looking to do things with a new bass player that they couldn't do with the last one , hence it not being in the current set
19. We do an 80s tribute I use a mark bass multi amp (various settings depending on song) I've used various bass but currently use a stingray , with a Detuned B2A for a few songs If I can't be bothered with 2 basses I take a Yamaha 5 string
20. Id rather drive an hour to a gig thats gonna rock crowd wise, than 10 mins to an empty venue So the answer depends on the gig
21. I always loved bass so brought a starter bass as soon as I started working (I had a homemade before that , 4x2 neck and screws wound for pickups ) , I soon also learned guitar and was playing that in bands for a while , but soon bass duties became my norm , the only thing I offer and the only thing I feel totally confident of playing at the level I pitch myself at
22.
One Of These Nights - The Eagles
Oh one of my fav all time songs
23. For me it's the structures I have to write out , the lines and parts in most covers are the easy bits , it's the awkward odd bars that I have to get in the right place , you have to play bass with confidence in the structure. Feel for you, many times I've said yes , then wished I hadn't
