Thought I'd post , Just seen concert , great band and some good fun bits in there
No warm up band, no intro, no interval , no encore , just a load of great songs , really enjoyed it
Being back home in 15 mins also is a nice touch
Set myself a budget a year ago to replace my traded stingray , which I missed, never thought white was my thing but this was bang on budget ....

It's a bit old-hat - the first song in particular is very 2000 - but it's very slick and accomplished for ones so young. Fair play to 'em.
Not sure if it's intentional or not but I'm sensing a strong Roadrunner Records/NYHC vibe as well.

If you say 2000 , that's the same as me and my teenage friends playing the late 60s music in the mid 80s , which we where all into and copying then
^ 12 string , your lovely blue boy won't be safe if I'm around
I have a cheap Yamaha 5 String which I paid £120 for , It was meant to help me decide if I wanted s 5 string , it's so good I gig it all the time and haven't thought of upgrading it . Admittedly it has decent pickups and set up , but shouldn't all basses
Nothing wrong with looking after gear and not wanting it to get marked
However , my main gigging basses are second hand non A1 condition (cosmetically not functionally) , brought specifically so I don't worry
I've not watched the clip but get the jist as I've seen similar before .
No , if that is a symptom of caring I don't care that much , I surround myself with band members of similar or slightly high standards to my own and we pitch ourself accordingly, get to play one fun functions and fund our band, that's it.
I've experienced this kind of coaching in sport , sometimes it works I guess.

Tina Weymouth (I'm in love with Tina)

There is something special about her at the beginning of the Tom Tom Club

Bands and groups do evolve in directions that don't suit everyone over time , but openess is the key to making decisions and being fair and honest about it , rehearsing new members behind your back is clearly wrong
Any simplicity in rhythm by those guys would surely be part of the design , however if you find live versions you might find some variations.
Also nowt wrong with you trying something else on it , I'm guessing you would be shy of a guitar if trying to cover it live anyhow , do a different arrangement might work , but will always divide opinion.
I rarely do much at home unless I've new cover songs to work on , or old ones to be ready with. It's not that I'm not motivated , just I have limited time to devote to things. Like many of us I've a job and family , and other interests.
At the moment my gigs and material churn is about the right balance
On another stage of life I hope it might be different
If it's honest and open then what's the problem .
Fender is a brand name that people find cool , so a functional bass with a logo is no different to a fake pair of shades
Personally if I built a bass id make a custom logo , but if someone wants a fender one , good luck to them
There was a lovely looking fake fender on the for sale earlier , someone got a bargain
