Was in one band , stage left Guitarist , plus 4 guitars on stands, rear but slightly Right Drums, Stage Right Keys, Brass, BV and bass, Front, but slightly Right Lead Vox. Didn't last long

I have both, and often do the darth Vader thing, looking at one then the other , back and forth trying to decide which side to take.

I can hear the difference between a washing up and a car sponge on my 62RI Seriously though good luck with this, I love playing my muted P bass, I use the foam out of case molding, it's quite dense , never done it over the strings though

How much is this bass actually really worth ? Or what price would see it sell ?

It's been there a while and hasn't sold yet , so must be well overpriced

I started but had to give up with some of the competency questions , as there are things I don't know the names of, normally I'd suggest that means I don't know them, but I've been complimented on teqniques before that I wasn't aware of knowing , my background is 30 years self taught and clearly this survey is for the educated player. Think I've done around 15 in various outfits , many of the rock ones in a classic rock set up Oddly , whilst we are fairly pop , our 80s tribute does sweet child , it always goes down well , and seems to please the section of the party that didn't get into Duran Duran or Madonna. Whilst I can't deny I get personally bored with some songs, it always surprises me that people who think they are cool come up with what you shouldn't play , these songs in the right setting get the party going , for me there is a time and a place where that's what's required. Nowt wrong with it.

It's one of those rare songs , like London Calling , where it's all about a wonderfully odd bass line

Jazz v Ric is a difficult comparison unless you are unaware of the differences in construction ? Most Mij basses are good instruments , I've 3 and they are all gems

My favourite neck at the mo is on my Japanese jazz bass, it's a chuncky Jazz neck but not as wide as a P , totally perfect

I actually like the idea of signature basses , and basses they are personally selected basses on such things (such as 3ts 6ri with flats to play Motown, or a white P to play Clash covers) but at the end of the day they are just basses. Players and fans pick them for differing reasons , it's all part of the fun.
