1. The Noel thing has been done before, I find him entertaining, love or hate him, he's a clever guy who came from a humble background and went for his dream.
2. Congrats , Mark bass gear is fantastic, i've been using their cabs for a number of years now with no GAS
3.
Like Walt Disney?!
Yeah like the movies , just saying that a bad childhood doesn't make you act badly, at least as an adult. Mr Baker has a choice.
4.
Good for you.
5.
I've seen this in a couple of people I know who have either been adopted or have lost parents very young.
I've been fostered, adopted and given up again, and know plenty of people like me who have grown up troubled and unwanted, but came out as nice decent caring people (who know how much these things hurt so wont want to inflict it on others). I also know people with disney backgrounds who are horrible, vindictive and walk over anyone.
6. Links not working , but if your talking about his daughter , she has a nice voice .... https://youtu.be/foDcN7sJm2k
7.
That is an awesome set list. I could do without Sweet Child but other than that it's spot on.
Yeah Im with you on that, though Walking on Sunshine is tired also, we actually skipped it last gig.
I am guessing you have a female singer? There is a few I would do with a different singer than ours.
Yes, and a cracking voiced one.
8. The 80s pretty much had everything , you don't have to like it all but if you dig in there is / was something for everyone Most Top 10s featured a vast selection of styles and images , we had unique vocalists not just singers. This was our last gigs set list ... Like a virgin Brass in Pocket Somewhere in my heart Picture This Hanging on the telephone Died in your arms Boys of summer Hungry like the wolf First Picture of you Walk like an Egyptian 99 Red balloons Flashdance Fame Don’t stop believing I love rock & roll Planet Earth Walking on sunshine Eye of the tiger Atomic Kids in America Alone Total Eclipse of the heart Hot Stuff Living on a prayer Here I go again Sweet child Purple rain
9. You'll adjust , I've got a 70s style P bass , neck is huge, but after a week or so it felt just right.
10. I've got front ported Markbass 210s and they put out more than enough , would the lack of ports of the travelers reduce that?
11. What do you mean by going on tour ? Is it with out outfit where you are part of the band and want to risk making a name for yourself or it coming to nothing? Or are you a hired hand and will get paid a wage, if so then you could liken it more to learn a trade and hope this kind of work continues. I would however say at 22 if your job bores you , focus on sorting that issue out now rather than later, if music is the answer or another direction, only you can judge.
12. We do an 80s tribute set, there's a lot of love for it
13. He is a sad sadistict mixed up man, but I think journalists like to poke him with sticks and make him admit it, which I find a little uncomfortable. Finding out the history of his drumming and what musically outfits he's been in is interesting , but another interview asking him if he regrets things is a bit lazy now I think.
14. I use 2 markbass 210s at 8ohms each , much more versatile than a 4ohm 410, for me at least I can take just 1 x 210 to rehearsals etc and it's easier to carry
15.
Jeez, no south west venues - I'm out.
Bristol ?
16. I've a 5 string but still prefer gigging a 4 but I've never usedd tuner , instead I drop the E string between songs with a tuner pedal or rack display Last Saturday i did this but forgot to tweak it back up before the next song, so I had to rearrange my bass pattern to compensate , which took a few bars of not playing so well Presumably a D tuner would allow you to get over that slot easier and I should also consider one
17.
Make your own bass and make your own sound......
That's unavoidable
18. Ive had a fair amount of good experiences on here and taken 2 what I consider "risks" , where posts / feedback was not in abundance, and all was well. Having said that even in the best places, where there are humans, there will be issues
19.
Does it have the offline facility like Spotify
Good question, I use that feature alot in spotify
20. Is it filmed from the shop side of the counter by a staff member ? If so fair enough if done for protection / evidence of incident etc, but it is very unprofessional to post it on line I really want to know what shop it is now , I guess we've all got the hump with customer service before, 10 years ago I could have easily done this in the Land Rover showroom (awful service and lack of care about major issues on a 3 year old car)
21. shorts and crocs last night, not seen any pics yet though
22.
I try not to be one to hark back to the past on some nostalgia trip so I'd only go as far as last weekend so I could watch Burt Bacharach again.
A friend was raving about a gig of his the other week at Hampton Court
