1. It's not all in anything , but any physical contact with the strings and how's it's done is an important part of the signal chain and hass bearing on the tone and shape of the final sound, and is what your electronics have to work with.
2. Sorry I didn't mean it to sound so literal , what I meant was that some pub gigs , especially newer start ups or one offs will often see the band bring lots of freinds , therefore double bookings will effect many Of course there are bands who regularly play pub circuits where it's either the man and do for a packed pub of strangers to them
3.
but I doubt many care which band is at the pub that night... so it works for the pub
I'm not sure , I think 1/3 of a pub gig audience usually have a connection to the band
4. It's not just band members who are affected , I paid a babysitter so my wife and I could drive some distance to see a friend of ours play in a pub, which didn't happen in the end due to double booking.
5. With all the settings and models at hand its funny what you end up doing , unless i've got obvious sounds needed to emulate songs such as Flangers, Valve or dirty sounds etc, i'm just loving the Trace Elliot amp setting with a bit of compression.
6. I like Florence, at least she's different which is a breath of fresh air these days, I think she'd have done ok in the 80s
7.
Another new review of the Multiamp is in this month's Bass player Mag. Handily Markbass have put it on their own site:- http://markbass.it/u...SS%20PLAYER.pdf
I don't general read those mags, they don't really go deep into things do they ?
8. Growing up I learned things from musical lyrics , even if I didn't understand the song fully , lyrics threw up questions , I don't see that happening now with pop. Most lyrics now are very self centered (ok I'm sure there's good stuff out there) If anyone is offended by it my guess is they are either trying to say "look at how PC and sensitive I am" or they have educated to think music and fun can't be mixed with a message on the darker (excuse the pun) side of history and life , and some of the aweful things humans have done (and still do)
9. A string through body puts the gain back in that gets sucked into a maple neck.
10.
But if you look at the number of knobs on the compressore and distotore, they are too complicated for the vast majority of players, and there is simply not enough panel space for it on an LM3 (or LMT). (Personally I'd be happy with a good single knob compressor built in to an LM3. I actually very rarely use a compressor, but it must be one of the more popular effects).
TC do this with the spectracomp knob
11. I was thinking of starting one by Burning Bridges with my band, but I've been Biding My Time.
12. Did a summer festival the other year where the main guitar player's new BlackStar rig failed mid gig ... Fast forward to a Function last week and I comment to the guitar player about his BlackStar combo "hey, I played a gig a while ago with a guitarist who had one of these, and it packed up ...." Guess what happened during that gig ? If you've got one don't bring it near me, I'll curse it.
13. Jamming is what Guitarists think Neil Young does
14. Where people voting without watching ? I've got bass types and gig both types , I really don't think it makes any difference and if there are any , it's less than the minutest 1/16 of a turn on a knob Nice experiment , but no noble prize for this one my friend On second thoughts , I think we need to honor you with some sort of award, something like "scientific services to bass" ?
15.
This isn't the saddest thread, http://basschat.co.uk/topic/264096-the-old-maplerosewood-topic-but-with-results-from-the-herts-bass-bash/ this is.
Yeah but that's the kind of sadness I embrace and live for
16. Congrats , and respect to your friend also
17. This has to be a saddest thread ever started, surely we've got better things to frown upon ? I say fair play to them
18. Im just bumping this thread incase theres any more info around about these basses, I've been gigging it (only safe gigs) and loving it, and periodically check the web for info or others for sale (with no joy) Just brought another CIJ maple necked Fender, this time a jazz bass, it just as wonderful.
19. If you think part of the deal was a good condition orginal box then you haven't received what you brought, but if the cost of the pedal is still a good if it where sold "without original box" then I'd proberly let it go.
20.
Never! Let your freak flag fly as long as you can.
Exactly http://youtu.be/PzC1vQqtmLA
21.
Straighteners? Really?
Mate I saw Rick Parfitt once at 6am and he'd done is hair before stepping out the tour bus

23. Im finding a 5 string really useful , but my problem is I love playing 4s, so im only using a 5 for a song or 2 and I hate swapping basses at a gig, but im not ready to go 5 full time.
