1.
I don't "need" it yet
Yeah, I think really needing one of these things could only be claimed by a few , but I kept desiring different effects and settings for a very varied set, and this does that. My thinking was , I don't play golf and I'm not into cars.
2. My B2A would make an effective paddle
3.
Yesterday, I sent a message to MB asking if they were thinking about a 1U rack multieffect with all the effects they put in the multiamp. They answered in was not on their plans but will be considered if they receive a lot of requests like mine. Personnally, I woul love to havesuch a 1U unit from markbass
It would be cool , but I wonder how much it would cost compared to the multi amp The multi amp is a 2u sized unit , which means it has a decent sized screen to edit on, I think I'd struggle without it being that size This amp really is the business , I'm playing highly compressed clean bass through what sounds like a trace Elliot , then at the touch of a button I'm driving an SVT and sounding dirty, and that's only touching on what's availible
4. Guitars are unlike many other things, modern technology only offers differences over older ones, and price tags don't tell the whole story. If you like a bass and it makes the sounds you need it to , thats all that counts.
5. My hohner B2a can make monster sounds , which begs the question about tone woods and large bodies , think electronics can do it alone
6. Yep, cheap yammy should do it. At the end of the day it will come down to dedication, plenty of us started on basses with all kinds of issues , you wont be limited by your instrument in the early days
7. Ive owed both TC and Mark bass rigs , I don't think you can go wrong with either, but I find its easier for me to feel happy with Mark Bass tones without to much tinkering, think thats more due to my taste (a Pass through Markbass clean just does it for me) rather than TC not being up there.
8.
Chromes - They're fairly high tension, but they do have a good even response and high QC.
This guy is a rarity, he delivered a very well thought out review
9. Amazing list, was it the buisness in decline ?
10. Done the survey , I've often thought about buying a decent lightweight pa for pubs and halls and hiring it out when we don't use it
11.
How have you guys found the compressor on the multiamp?
Not found an effect yet i'm not happy with on it
12. I had a TC rig, 212 with 210 on top (used them Horizontal and Vertically) The band before us used me rig once and I went into the crowd, was very impressed how solid the bass was (it wasnt in PA , 150 in a hall) That was a few years back , got Markbass GAS, but there really was no reason to change, it was an awesome rig
13. For me 3TS is sunburst , anything else is just a weird colour .
14.
I had that when I first transcribed 'Rio' by Duran Duran. This was a couple of years back and I had just started properly but I got into it, half an hour on 50% speed and carried on. Got it within an hour after that.
I love playing JTs lines, Planet Earth , Rio , Girls on Film etc, all great fun
15. It's modern life , it's not just bass gear , sports equipment and I'd guess all other similar activities have gear issues. I remember reaching county level MA and still having a second hand uniform that was 2nd hand and way to big, chuncky football boots with studs missing etc. Now you go to buy football boots for kids who don't even know the rules yet and there are lightweight space tech Ronaldo versions , along with MA clubs who make beginners buy gear that would look good in Hollywood movies. Try buy a road bike or anything and GAS has it's place. The 1st world has moved on from tea chest basses and home made cricket bats
16. Ive been happy with my markbass gear for a number of years, but ive recently brought a multi amp, this is due to me using all of effects recently (80s stuff) and really getting into emulating sounds, the multi amp has all the effects in. So I can stop buying and messing with pedals now. With regards to basses, Ive got 2 precisions which I love, am experimenting with a cheap 5 string for now, and have just done a deal on a Jazz bass Im quite relaxed chopping and changing basses as GAS hits me because 2nd hand you can always sell on without much loss , if any
17. PM sent I would like to buy this if we can work out how
18. We used to do "be my lover" such a clever and fun song to play
19. 500 miles (not the Flora Purim version which I'd love to play) I've a few one off covers gigs coming up and have agreed to some pretty sad set lists, but I have another project where I'm really into what we do, I guess you can't have it all always, at least in the weekend warrior covers functions world
20.
Best by a country mile again IMO was Lianne La Havas?
Yep
21.
Surely it can't be fanned fret if it has no frets! That is just ridiculously crazy!
How about a Fan Fretted Fretless Precision
22.
So I went to Bass Direct yesterday looking for a new amp, Mark suggested trying a different bass
23. Mostly I play small functions, but on the odd occasion where I've done bigger gigs where you can't acctually see people's eyes , I've found easier than everyone looking at you at a wedding or pub
