1.
Ah, yes. This is the BassChat I know and hate. Where people rag on someone for a perceived offence then 'challenge' them to justify themselves then 'challenge' their justifications ad inf. Bogus social 'concern' mostly designed to make the poster feel better about themselves at someone else's expense. It's a thing that weak, defeated people do from their keyboards because they're so insignificant no one notices them in real life. There's more of it on BC than there used to be, but that's just a measure of the declining quality of membership and an associated rise in self-interested cause-ist vigilantism. I think the OP's been more than restrained in his responses. All credit to him.
I thought your post was spot on until your last word "him", man thats sexist.
 2. I want to gig syth bass on one EDIT - I want to buy one right now , where ? 2nd EDIT - bugger 2016, thats a long way in the future to keep this body safe and functioning , hope I get to see one
 3.
Hey I'm not questioning your intentions. Just offered a suggestion which could have stopped this thread getting derailed.
Maybe , but if saying "girl" when referring to a girl (equally someone could post Huw, and say check this "guy" out) is going to cause a stir, then there are people on here that are so high maintenance that the OP had no chance anyway, which I suspect is the case.
 4.
In which case maybe change the thread title to 'check this bassist out' .
Why, no one would complain if someone started a thread saying "check this dude out", or "check this kid out" or "one armed man". He only said "girl" which she is, not "bird" , "babe" or the like
 5. Some of you guys are taking PC to the extreme, the OP always posts threads about Bands/Songs he loves and they are vary varied, give him a break. Surely if anyone wanted to seek a something sexual, and low quality image of someone playing bass is not the place to start. Im a big Huw fan BTW.
 6. Not last night, but last week we did the first session and first of 2 sets worth of 80s songs for an 80s tribute, first gig booked for April I have got to say, It was the most satisfying session for a long time, musically and vocally wonderful, and lots of fun songs as far as I'm concerned
 7.
"Interested in joining a psychedelic rock band? do you have hair? do you wear baggy or skinny jeans? Do you have good equipment? Are you good? Reliable?"
My Answers to that would be NO Yes, but I've just cut it Neither You decide (mark bass, cheap Yamaha , and various Fenders) You decide, I can emulate most pops songs pretty well Subject to natural disasters, YES
 8.
Fair enough, The majority of the youngsters (musicians) I know have no interest in The Beatles.
This is true IME, maybe not fair to say no interest, but perhaps that they don't elevate them out of the large pool of influences as much as a decade or 2 ago.
I wonder if I'm the only one that wonders how the Chilli Peppers could be mentioned in the same sentence with The Beatles or The Stones.
Im no big Peppers fan, but that is a silly thing to say, the Chilli Peppers have been a hugely successful and influential band for many years
I have nothing against The Chilli Peppers, however I'm having a tough time making any kind of musical connection between The Beatles or Stones with The Chilli Peppers. But that's just me.
The connection I was making was that , during the 80s when I was a teen, many youth cultures paid respect to the Beatles and Stones, and they where idolised as cream of the crop. Ive over the last 10 years witnessed a large group go through their teens and their focus was on what the Chilli Peppers did in the late 80s and early 90s, just as we looked back on the Beatles. The Peppers where and still are their Beatles
 9.
I'm a Wings fan too, however, Wings were not The Beatles.
I realise that, but thread is about McCartneys bass playing so that's why I brought up Wings. I do get where your coming from, the Beatles will most likely go in and out of Fashion with youth cultures , and become part of history, just like the original recorded Jazz artists there will always be a fan base but it won't be at the forefront of youth culture. Over recent years , most the teens I've known have looked back and admired The Chilli peppers in the way we did the Beatles , Stones etc .
 10.
Unfortunately I can't imagine anyone under 50 actually 60 appreciating or understanding the film.
Im 46 and as a teenager in the early 80s I got beaten up for wearing a Wings badge, no youth culture at the time would have had wings down as cool, but I appreciated McCartney's playing even then. Im sure there are plenty or music and art fans in the teens and 20s even now who are embracing this stuff. Give people a little more credit my friend.
 11. My yamaha BBN is an amazing bass for the money
 12. Agree 3.5 is not even head down between tea breaks with no phone for some people at work
 13. Congrats on the gig I bet some guitars intonations are out by more than your tuner to Normans if it was tested with something more sensitive than an average floor pedal.
 14. I got the premium for .99 for 3months deal, but I think it's worth £10 per month if it provides all your musical needs
 15.
the best way to look at any design in that respect, is maybe not "stolen" but perhaps respectfully used and embellished on.
And that's the reason you'll never get a job at Rickenbacker
 16. Your a scumbag GAS dealer who's actions ruin other peoples lives
 17. Tone - its all in the fingers, no matter what pick, bass , amp, effects you have you'll sound the same , fact
 18.
I have the LM3 a traveller 2x10 and 1x15 cabs and a 4x10 cab, I cannot fault any of them, I use the head as a back up to my Ampeg Pro 7 SVT at the moment as I just like the Ampeg sound but it has all been 100% reliable, it sounds great and is light weight (with the exception of the 4x10 which is still flipping heavy!)
Do you run your markbass cabs with the ampeg?
 19. Not quite what your asking, but the bar fill on D in silly loves (where he only repeats the D note) always makes me smile as it seems perfect, I know silly inst it
 20. Nice one Lee, I'll now not wonder anymore what your up to when they tell me your in the office
 21. Markbass 210s , I've 2 so can make a 410 Std little mark Absolutely meets my needs , in fact I don't think I've kept any other rig as long
 22. I've a quality pair of noise canceling good bass headphones so I know what good phones sound like , but I've got to say the standard apple ear buds , in a quite enviouroment produce an amazing sound for what they are So we all grew up with access to good hi fi ? I certainly didn't , don't think B B king did either
 23. I used to use a valve fender 210 , it sounded great but was heavy and picked up radio stations
