2. did they stop walking when they entered or walk right through the whole bar ?
3. Cheers guys, ive added a headstock and body photo, hope this helps you help
4.
Why not believe someone who has made world class basses for over 30 years?
I did not say I did not believe there was a difference, every natural material differs on some scale of course, but my point is that the differences are not so prominent, that you wont be able to overcome them with a minute turn of a dial Thats my experience of owning both necks on various instruments. The range of sounds basses can produce is vast, has anyone ever really chosen an instrument fingerboard because of the tonal value of the wood?
5. Surely pickups , tone controls, amp settings etc completely overide any minor differences the neck material might feed into the pickup at source ? I'm not saying acoustically they won't be different , but I can't see how it can be so different a almost unnoticeable minor tweak of a dail won't dismiss ? Yes, I've had maple and rosewood basses that differ but I could not confidently say it was the neck as I did not swap bodies / necks around, so it could have been pups or set up or body tone etc
6. ok cheers , will do some more pics soon
7. thunderbird, love the look, but the balance, doesn't sit like a P
8. Id love to see this list ? Have you actually played through a short list or initial list , does the band work, everyone do their homework ?
9. I believe its a 73 Any more info on its set up and originality would be helpful Many thanks
10. 200 as a future goal or starting out ? I only speak for myself, and as a non reader, but you can learn and remember the lines and fills to most pop songs in minutes, but the structure for a song thats not already deeply routed already in your brain takes time to be so. 200 would be an epic fail on all levels Would it not be better to start with 30, and if the band can get these down, and play with complete confidence, with no sheets, then you can slowly add and add ?
11. Did a pub gig last week, all the photos have the "toilets>" sign above my head, then weren't near thank God, just the sign.
12.
I can't be the only one who finds it really difficult hearing or recognising the first beat of a bar, so any tips on how to find it?
Is this the bitches brew thread ? Seriously though, if you count 1234 to most pop music, you can't help but want to start at the right bar?
13. 38:00 one of my fav tracks , the bottle
14.
So, lojo, did you buy molan's Delanos ? I see they are sold.
No, ive just this minute looked, think I want to stick cosmetically to traditional looking fender pickups, but am still open to anything
15. Just tubed them also, a great new discovery for me, thanks
16. Thought they'd have got on with a direct DI then sorted the rig after ? Ok, we are not soundgarden, but i did a dep gig with a rock band at a small festival, and one of the guitarists new expensive blackstar amp failed, its very frustrating.
17. Thanks guys , I'm in touch with the manchester creamery ?
18.
budget ?
No budget, I want this to be my perfect bass , thanks
19. As wizard closed the week before I wanted to order a set for my P/J build I'm still undecided what to put in instead I'd like them to be middle of the road to cover all the styles you get called upon to play in a general functions covers band (so fender std USA may be the right choice) Any suggestions
20. I stick to the village hall and play with people who think its the said hall, it's always good fun and I'm home for coco
21. Remember there is a change in So What No matter how many songs get changed from the oringal key , resist the urge to get a 5 string if you get the chance to gig Ace of Spades, embrace it, it's a lot of fun strumming chords

23. If you don't have the time or the will to learn the full 15 songs , perhaps give over a few more to the guy who does his homework and keep the amount or songs you feel confident you can nail.
