1. I can't post here, is there a rational dislike thread, I could on that
2. classic, though Im bored of mine at the mo cycles I guess
3. if so i better but another now before prices go up
4. Got a second hand B2A a while back and wasn't getting on with it at home, mainly because it's so different to fenders which I'm so used to , however I used it in a band situation at the weekend just to try it and it was perfect.
5.
On really old-school all-valve heads, they did (apparently) sound better when pushed really hard,
in my experience thats what guitarists say to justify why they can't keep it down in practice sessions or on stage , even if its true
6. You have headroom , that's good, I'd only change it if you wanted something easier to carry , not so you can run at 6 instead of 2 and still put out the same
7.
Dead right. My only surprise is the OP's surprise that the gig was good
Yeah, just being honest , I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy 1.5 hrs of it , but I could have done it all again after
8. I think they are one of those bands that id love loud and live, but not for general listening.
9. Never been into them, but never hated them either, so when offered a ticket to see them the other day, I accepted. Well, what a fantastic gig .... Basic guitars, not suitcases full of effect pedals, jokes about 3 chords and age. Pub and Function bands debate if Johnny be good is to cheesy and should be buried with Mustang Sally, well Quo can get away with it for an encore! Almost a breath of fresh air with regard to enjoying the clitche and not trying to be cool, different or inventive, just basic guitars and 8ths basslines, like it or lump it. OK, I doubt I'll be playing any LPs any time soon, but for a fun live gig, well worth it, total respect to them, the whole band had a very entertaining spirit about them.
10. I've read stuff on this site which would suggest if Jaco had the first clue about bass playing he wouldn't have used a fender, so I don't rate him at all.
11. didnt dexys do this for a while ?
12. P neck , P pup, but I also love the bridge pup of a jazz, thanks why I'm building a p / j
13. Invest it sensibly in more land or property
14. Mate that is aweful! But your right it does make you question mortality, we've experienced our fair share of young death, both natural and accident based and it's hard to understand. Wishing you all best as you get through it.
15.
I find it fascinating that some people feel they have to announce to the forum who they put on ignore. It's the cyber version of turning your back on someone in meatspace, simultaneous display of anger and vulnerability. Have a lovely weekend darling.
You apologised for the drummer quote, which to be fair was needed, but that should have ended the heat really, shame its gone this way.
16.
Oh yes it would totally be up to a mod or admin to make a decision like this I just posted the idea to see if it was OK with the hope of the powers that be would read it and see what they thought
Sorry mate I didn't mean to come across all big brotherish
17.
I am free to make any judgements I like, and you are free to judge my judgements. But I judge your judgement that I made any judgements as inaccurate.
I judge your judgement of his judgement that your judgement on his judgement was an inaccurate judgement to be judgemental, anyone want to call me judgemental for doing this is being judgemental in my judgement. Re the band, not my cuppa, girl reminds me of Courtney Cox, but the OP loves her look and music, so fair play to him, my mum used to like John Denver for similar reasons.
18.
I've got a CIJ P bass and I'm looking to swap it for £600 , is that allowed
I've got a CIJ P bass and I'm looking to swap it for £600 , is that allowed Only joking I totally support the sites new selling rules , Op do you need to check with a mod about this ? Great idea though
19. If everyone does their homework away from band , or individuals get together to work out parts or harmonies, then the full band is not that regular, that could still be more effective than a band who does weekly session where no one comes prepared or organsied. There are no rules, just goals. Having said that, even I'd it worked, would he be free to gig ?
20.
i think that Mumford and Sons should be nutted along with Andy Murray at the earliest convenience of her Maj.
Fixed It's a joke, no backlash please
21. try looking up and calling some local rehearsal studios we've hired stuff from ours before, even a decent full PA with monitors, snake and inputs leads galore for £70
22. Go for used, borrow one even if possible, dont buy new unless you really know what you want and have your heart set on something you can only get new Id say, but some second hand buget basses which you could pass on again with little loss, then you can experiment a little. Good luck and welcome to the world of making everyone else sound great
23. Im sure ive seen Blondie endorsing a Blondie Tribute act, and other artists doing similar things, Id guess unless they are aweful, they only help to keep interest alive, which has to be good for artists. Id guess some up themselves artists may hate it , but I doubt many do.
