1. Because I'm not the weakest link in most the bands I play in
2. Ok, if your a lefty you'll have to reverse the post Although the right hand does alot to play finger style with feel, it would seem the 4 fingers on the fretboard would be the more natural thing to try to do with your best hand. Completly stupid pointless thought I know
3. It's the name of a certain style of music which was DJ'd at some soul clubs such as the Wigan casino, google it. Some great music comes under its umbrella, I used to collect 45s associated with it.
4. Barefaced? Never had one and it's only a Cab Orange was to best rig I ever had or heard , but way to heavy
5. Yesterday, someone commented on the large cabs blocking the patio doors at the back of our living room, my wife's reply was "every home should have one", shes great
6. Wow, I used to play bass through one of these in pub gigs , great amps , good luck
7. Wow I don't usually make the top 4% , in anything noteworthy anyway. I've done a few tenners here and there when I've sold something , but if I stay on basschat , over the years £20 to buy and sell from the BC community is very fair. I understand the views about an eBay based % system, but unless you only sell one item ever at just over £50, there really are no drawbacks I can see. I might be wrong, but BC is not a democracy and can't be, but I think it's run by genuine people who wish to best serve the site users and not every decision can please everyone. Good work, thanks, I'm sticking around for sure. Right now I'm off to sell a p bass, £49.99 for each string, tuner, pup, sadle and other part, must buy whole lot will not split.

9. Love some Info on Berry tweed please, your in one of my top 3 ideal bands paying ths stuff! Also, please don't mention Mick Hucknels new release http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8TBy4_Ucy8&sns=em
10. I could name quickly every note , but I don't think notes , just roots and patterns, but just because I can name the notes quickly doesn't mean I know the theory that connects them, only the patterns that crop up time and time again when I learn songs.
11.
I'm not even sure I've ever been asked it by another musician except on Basschat.
Thats my experience also, I have played in both, but never experienced a negative attitude towards covers (or tab ) by anyone outside of Basschat
12. If its the guy with something like huwberry user name , then yes he is a wonderful player, think its a lot of technique tbh
13. Dougal I thought we decided last week the punters dont miss the baselines, so sell em all.
14. I play in covers bands because I love playing music, be it creating or covering, I love playing party music live and being part of a good night. I can fit into a covers band with minimal homework or rehearsal time, which fits with my family time, job and time spent on other things I enjoy. To be honest, Its a lot of fun, be it playing at wedding where I dont know anyone, or doing a parent night in the school, its just fun. The other thing is, I have never in my 44 years on earth experienced or heard any negativity towards playing covers from anyone other than on this site.
15. Always wanted a kubicki, they look cool, and I usually hate this kind of look, great design.
16. When I started out we had no internet and only cassettes or Records, I spent hours lifting needles and rewinding cassettes to earn covers , now I'm older and have kids and a busy life, if a tab or chord chart gets me halfway to figuring a song out quickly I'll take it. Yes most are incomplete or very wrong, but they can save time if you find a half decent one. No shame in it, all that really matters as far as I'm concerned is that I play the line to my band mates, the audience and my liking. Of course others my see it differently.
17. Happy music room wishes I built a musc room by converting my garage, then I rented it out and moved
18. You are in the place between caring , you will again, only to discover its not worth it, only to doing it again, the only unknown is the time between each phase
19. I would know what note I am playing because I know my fret board, but I would not think the note, only the patten involved, and some key roots to anchor the song in my head, if that makes sense
20. I feel really stupid but I just don't get music where the bass starts doing much more than a good groove. I watch these guys with awe , but I can only enjoy it when I see them playing with my eyes, if its listening only its not quite the same. Should I be struck from the bass playing community ? Obviously I'm not talking about the greats who play as part of a great band, but the ones who build a band around a lead bass
21. Sorry if this is not connected , but the song makes me feel like this one does http://youtu.be/XCbcItIV9Gw http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XCbcItIV9Gw
22. I gig for similar reasons to why I still play football at 44, I love it . Being in the moment, under pressure to focus and do the right thing, there is no clutter in my mind when I am doing these things, unlike when I do eveything else, including relaxing. The buzz of getting it right, of a crowd enjoying it and dancing, and the comradary / social side As for money, I'm fortunate enough to have got it for most gigs I've done in recent years, making it a self financing hobby, but it's not the main movitivation.
