1. There is no best place, some are good and some are very misleading, most are incomplete. Suggest you google the individual song you are looking for and compare various links
2. My current covers set is varied. I'd love to play Americana / folk but never had the opportunity
3.
here is a video of how its sounds and plays:
It's unlikely to sound and play like that in my hands Very keen to know where you are, I've cash ready
4. where in london are you, Id be happy to pay cash and take this if I can get to you within a timescale that suits you
5. Try anything, I played in a covers 3 piece for a while (ok 3 + singer), but to be fair, the guitar player was good at making the songs work. Even key heavy songs like Sweet dreams can work really well if the guitar and bass do the right parts
6. Refusing to play songs is all fine, but it needs to be done by either not joining a certain band, or at least having the discussion and outcome and agreeing before a gig?
7.
Playability Sound Look
If you can't play , then reverse the order
8. sig sound different bass
9.
Nice to see so many of us agreeing on something for once. In fact, thus far the praise has been unanimous
It won't last There where some fantastic backing bands in the 80s behind pop acts, sadly now it's all about the singer, for pop at least.
10. Never had an problems from my wife with regard to gear, I've even pondered things and she has said "just get it if you want it" Having said that she knows I work hard, and am tight and wont throw money away on things I don't need or couldn't recover if needed
11. I would answer it would be odd but it wouldn't matter Though it may bother me 10 years down the line
12. Only just watched it properly recently The guy from blur was the suprise for me, really liked it Sterophonics where great, love his sound when they do covers, but can't really get into thier own tunes The girl can surely sing, but twist and shout had too much going on for me Really like the story of how twist and shout got on the album
13. I tuned it on, cordon was trying to interview Dave grohl then said justine timber lake was coming on, so I put some music on instead
14.
I didn´t even know that!
Yeah, remember seeing it live , it was the first time I heard of them, but can't remember the show
15. what show was it around this period where he played foxy lady hanging upside down?
16. Can I have the white one please Please send me a pm, can't start pms on my phone, but can reply once the conversations started (odd bug)
17.
Are you doing it all yourself or taking it to a luthier?
Just making it up from parts myself.
18. Sometimes you just have to go with your instincts, sometimes we ignore them to save conflict, but you pay in the future anyway and waste your time along the way Easier said than done though ..
19.
3. Get two stack pots and wire them as volume, tone, volume, tone (whatever order you like of course!) this is more messy but saves routing of extra holes (I hope that makes sense!)
KiOgon on here just made me one of these for my pj project I love the simplicity of 2 stacked pots, plus it keeps the p bass look. I do need to slightly widen the cavity to fit the pots in from what was there before
20. 2nd time I've asked John to make me a loom, this time a custom p/j with 2 fender stacked pots. John was helpful from the start of the idea through to the delivery of it. Don't hesitate to engage his services
21.
The difference between Yellow Submarine and "She's Leaving Home" is the difference between Gone With The Wind and Meet The Fockers.
Hey , I like Gone with the wind, don't knock it !
22. Radio version arrangement unless otherwise stated Though , I will look at live versions, to hear how it's actually played live
23.
The key being an ideal world. I find quite often that it's not always easy to pick out some lines and somoetimes what the guitarist hears and interprets are different to what I have heard and interpreted. Especially when the bass is indistinct on the recording and 'almost' doubles the guitar. That's what practices are for, to make sure you're all playing together.
We must be talking about different kinds of music or songs, not many covers I'm asked to play where there is not an easy to distinguish baseline, but we are talking basic pop, rock and soul, typical covers band stuff.
